Some people asking about Jesus lately....

VTSmitty. The scriptures tell us exactly how to share the Gospel. In Acts 17 Paul gets a chance to speak in front of the Aeropagus. Where all the "brilliant thinkers" gathered in that day. Paul didn't meet them where they were or honor their life experiences and up bringing.

He said, "To the unknown god.’ pWhat therefore you worship qas unknown, this I proclaim to you. 24 rThe God who made the world and everything in it, being sLord of heaven and earth, tdoes not live in temples made by man,3 25 nor is he served by human hands, uas though he needed anything, since he himself vgives to all mankind wlife and breath and everything. 26 And xhe made from one man every nation of mankind to live yon all the face of the earth, zhaving determined allotted periods and athe boundaries of their dwelling place, 27 bthat they should seek God, cand perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. dYet he is actually not far from each one of us, 28 for

e“‘In him we live and move and have our being’;4

as even some of fyour own poets have said,

“‘For we are indeed his offspring.’5

29 Being then God's offspring, hwe ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. 30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but know he lcommands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed ma day on which nhe will judge the world oin righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and pof this he has given assurance to all qby raising him from the dead.”

32 Now when they heard of rthe resurrection of the dead, ssome mocked. But others said, t“We will hear you again about this.” 33 So Paul went out from their midst. 34 But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius uthe Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them."

Basically God is real and He made yo, we need HIm, you must be redeemed in Christ, we will be resurrected either to glory or a 2nd death which is hell.

    Like I said LOSNOLEs.

Mich&RedWingFan you and I have already discussed the gospel. We both agree you stand in opposition to Christ. Whether you want man to judge you or not the Bible clearly states God will judge you upon your death. Do not wield scripture because in it it professes that you are, as of now, a vessel of wrath for God. Pray that God would save you. He may well do so.

I never, ever said I was in opposition to Christ's teachings. You can look up my post history and try to find something that indicates that.

You believe Christ is the Way, Truth and the Life and there is no other way to be reconciled to God accept through Him? And that a life in Christ is one of self denial, utter change from your sinful past, and service to the will of God?

No I don't, but I never said I was in opposition of the teachings of Jesus.

God is glorified by everything. Namely sin. It is on the pitch black backdrop of human sinful nature that the Light of Christ shines brightest.

God made man for unadulterated fellowship with Himself. Man sinned and the results pain God as evidenced in Genesis 6. However He is glorified and that was the Chief end of creation.

That is the gospel of Christ. If you do not agree you stand in opposition.

That's just your imagination talking again.

You're the same person you've always been. Own that.

  • I would say you would be more against the teachings of Jesus than myself .... Do not judge others lest you be judged. Those without sin throw the first stone. Treat others the way you would wish to be treated. Turn the other cheek. The way you treat the least of us is how you treat God.

This is how the first thread went. You started posting these singular scriptures pagans memorize to combat Christians preaching the gospel and despite my readily disproving their stand alone validity you will just lead me down another rabbit hole. Here is my link from earlier, you won't read it.

Did I just imagine you judging and attacking all the other religious posters in this thread?

Edit: I will read your link tomorrow

Double Edit: Even if the link tries to prove a point, I guess it is up to interpretation whether Jesus would agree.

I also tire of the "judge not" crowd. Listen, I don't go around judging others. But DON'T TELL ME SIN IS OKAY. I'm not buying it.

Exactly, and when you try and point that out many people immediately pull our the ole "Judge not, lest ye be judged"

You're just another unbeliever who has about 25 verses memorized that form a certain picture of Christ that fits what you want. You have to take into account the entirety of the Bible which is all about Jesus.

It's like the pagans on news channels saying they think Jesus would accept Gay people because of how he acted towards certain sinners in the Bible.

Jesus would go to the gay person's house, eat with them, tell them He came to save them from their wretchedness and if they heard his teaching and believed, departed from their Sin and lived for Him they would inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. The idea that Jesus would go to the gay person's house, chill for a while and then tell them that they seem like great people and that their lifestyle is 2ndary issue is demonic.

Don't brother. Don't. Trust me. This thread has been very fruitful and partly because you couldn't trust anyone in here to give an accurate account of what he said because it attacks the very ideologies SOME hold.

Just watch it as you have time. It's very very encouraging.

That is where many make the mistake of misinterpreting the Christians. When we tell someone that something they do is wrong, we are not telling them they are going to hell for it immediately(At least I do not) but that it would be wise to stray from that unrighteous path.

People just hate being told what they do is wrong and then twist it around into, oh this person is a hypocrite and is telling me I am going to go to hell for the same things they possibly do.
