Never draft a college QB that was at elite school surrounded by talent

    Been my motto for years

Its the QB's from random schools or on teams lacking talent that do well, like RG3, Luck, Big Ben, Phil Rivers, Eli Manning, and so on

Then you have the Weinke's, Dorsey, Palmer, Sanchez, Leinart, Vince Young, Tebow among many others who dominated college ball cause they played on incredible teams

If i was a NFL GM i would never touch these types

    makes sense to me

  • Yup, our QBs have not been successful in the NFL....good thing our Orange County boys come from successful families, and invested/investing well whatever money they make in the NFL. USC has a lot of other players succeeding and making loads of cash in their positions.

Wow Sanchez is bad.. Of course a USC homer would say no way Tebow plays but this is really, really bad and the Boo birds are out in FULL force.

Sanchez has shown he can do it, but maybe he has regressed,
or maybe he needs a change, we shall see.

The 3 USC QB's who are starters in the league, have all had some decent success,
but compared to LSU Starting QB's in the NFL, they are.......
wait, there are no starting QB's from LSU in the NFL right now.

    USC

    NFL Career so far

239 NFL Starts, 119 Wins, 4 playoffs wins, 3 Pro Bowls.

    LSU

Just for fun, the NFL's all-time Biggest flop of a #1 pick
LSU's JaMarcus Russell - Career Stats
    4,083 yds, 18 TD's/ 23 INT's (7-18 record in starts)

Now that's bad, really bad, just terrible.

You have to go back to Bert Jones in the 1970's, the last time an LSU
QB had Pro Bowl level success throwing his Lesticals around the NFL.

    He isn't there yet.

Next year he'll be pretty good, but they will need to find an impact WR/TE for him to work with.

Year after next he will be a very good NFL QB

Gotta disagree with you here. He has one of the highest completion rates in the NFL and has thrown zero picks. He's also shown an ability (which we saw in college) to use his feet to extend the play. Plus, he has Kyle Rudolph and Percy Harvin, that's your impact WR/TE right there.

Oh, well gosh -- After reading that knowledge, Suddenly I'd be okay with Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassell, or Carson Palmer leading my team. Funny, they all seem like bums and turnover machines, but I guess I can rest easy knowing they're better then LSU QBs?

    He's very defensive,no?

  • Sanchez has ZERO decent offensive weapons around him. Name another Good QB in the NFL with as little talent around him. WR's,TE's, RB's etc.

Meh. He is never going to be on or close to the elite level until he gets a Calvin Johnson or a AJ Green to throw at to go along with the very good guys he already has.

I just don't see him as a QB who is going to make plays, he is a distributer. He'll play consistent and look solid but if he gets a BIG time weapon to throw to he could look like he is approaching elite.

    - Bradford (STL) w/ Jackson unhealthy.
    - Luck (IND)
    - Roethlisberger (PIT) with Mendenhall out.

I think these three are comparable, with Pittsburgh admittedly being a little of a stretch. Although, the PIT RB's have averaged about 2.5 YPC without Mendenhall. Assume Mike Wallace = Santonio Holmes (when having a competent QB) and the offenses are similar.

    Difference is, Sanchez is terrible.

  • Also, I hope Tebow takes over soon. Made a big bet with someone two years ago that Sanchez would never win a Super Bowl for NYJ. Easy money.

  • Buffalo is really the only team that can make Sanchez look good. That's why the first week was not indicative of how the Jets would play the entire season. Unfortunately, Sanchez can't rely on two good games a year.
