South Carolina Sanctions

Prepare for a ton of downvotes. Probably already linked on TBS.

I could care less.....I didn't create this nor do I care about South Carolina. I just thought it was an interesting topic....I didn't know SC fans would get so mad and sensitive.

Your mind won't even be able to comprehend the sensitivity.

Every team is allowed to respond....this isn't a dictatorship (completely) but every school is allowed to self impose sanctions and fight the accusations. South Carolina has taken some major steps in demoting their compliance offer and offering to pay fines and self imposed sanctions (which were weak) either way the NCAA said SC players received $47,000 in impermissible benefits...that is FACT.

LOL...if that was FACT then there would be no reason to respond. I realize this is tough for you to understand, but read harbinater's response and that will help ease your pain.

Again, I could care less about SC they mean nothing to me.....and yes it is FACT I am sorry you can't accept that and your butt is hurt a little and probably mad you guys will get the hammer. SC is meeting with the committee this weekend and probably will come down pretty hard on SC in about 2-3 months.

Yea that would be a "normal rate" for a "small student apt" but EACH individual was receiving a 2 BEDROOM APT to themselves for $15 dollars a night.

Obviously they mean something to you otherwise you wouldn't have started this thread. Secondly, nobody knows how the NCAA will rule and thirdly they have already met with the committee.

sure, it's a fact that the ncaa said they got 47k in benefits.

it is not yet a fact that those figures the ncaa compiled are accurate or representative of the situation and of benefit received. nor is it a fact of whether or not said benefit was improper.

that is what the fact finding and disputation process is for.

if what the usc poster are saying is true, and this is offered to athletes and non-athletes (and even non-students) alike, then it shouldn't be too difficult for the university to find evidence of such facts from some other residents of the hotel/apartment and their monthly/daily rent payments.

now, what the ncaa will determine? anyone's guess, despite the actual facts.

the ncaa has shown time and again that it simply sticks its finger up it's ass, tastes it, then determines what to eat for lunch. there's no telling what they'll determine is sufficient evidence in any case, much less this one.

hahahaha all I have heard from SC fans is "its not as bad as you think" but when I look at everything and even the school even admitted they made MAJOR VIOLATIONS...nobody has responded to my initial question to begin with...hopefully you aren't being serious.

i had a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, full kitchen, full livingroom, laundry room, hardwood floors throughout, 2 car garage, fullbrick HOUSE in a decent/good neighboorhood for $469/month while i was in college.

and i owned it. i got a decent deal on it (about 10-15k undervalue, people were leaving town and needed out right then), but i had several friends in similar places for not much more (550-600 range).

a decent (not great) 2 bedroom apartments for $450/month is pretty average.

Ok here's one... Scholarship deduction is realistic but not 10. Bowl ban is likely. but not three years, maybe one... No team in SEC ( or conference with similar TV contract) will ever get a television ban again. The benefits received gave no on field advantage, therefore no vacated wins. They might get about the same slap on the wrist that OSU got.

You weren't asking a question; instead, you were looking for opinions on perceived improper benefits. SC fans, Bama fans, Auburn fans gave you their opinion. I can not help it if you can't understand plain English.

What are you looking for other than to troll? I guess they should all be hung and crucified because some athletes and non-athletes received what the NCAA compliance officials at the University deemed as an acceptable rate.

I guess when Universities hire NCAA compliance personnel the NCAA should do a better job of training as to what is and is not considered improper benefits.

IF (and big if from my point of view right now) these "facts" hold true, i could see some severe penalties, like bowl ban for a season or 2, 4-7 scholly's/year for 2-4 years, etc. but not what was in original post.

i also don't know what on-field-advantage has to do with vacating wins. bama's textbook deal had nothing to do with on-field performance, yet they vacated about 15 games.

in fact, what i think is most likely to happen is the benefits are dropped down to a reasonable level (including the SAM stuff at full, since i know nothing about that) i'll say 10k. then they take away 12-3 schollys/year for 3 years, a 1 year bowl ban, and vacate the last 3 years.

usc will appeal, and they'll drop to the bowl ban and 1 scholly per year.

by the way, I was in Philadelphia the other night and got a room at the sheraton for 49 dollars. I hope the room police don't come after me and say I paid to little.
