To add to the anti-speed argument.Did you all know that current Baltimore Ravens WR Anquan Boldin ran a 4.71 at the 2003 NFL Combine?And given that he's in his early 30s, he probably runs/plays a step slower. But he had no problem owning San Francisco's speedy corners such as Carlos Rogers for instance. That's the same 6' tall Rogers who ran a 4.44 at the 2005 NFL Combine.The list of great (which is to say accomplished) NFL WRs who run a sub-4.5 is actually small which suggests that speed is not the most important factor for a WR.The GOAT (aka Jerry Rice) ran a 4.7 in the 40 yard dash but he no problem taking on sub-4.3 beat Neon Deion.Don't get me wrong. Speed/quickness/elusiveness are all great qualities to have in a WR. But adding them with actual skill makes that combination of athletic qualities lethal.

If speed was all that mattered I'd be one happy Raider fan.

Track-level speed is lovely, but not when it comes at the expense of route-running, good hands, and body control.

Now, if/when you get the guy who runs a 4.4, jumps out of the gym, runs good routes, AND can catch the ball....then you're one lucky SOB.
