Sporting News Top 25 Players In 2012

  • mizAU said...

Are you saying you expect those 8 players and "a lot of others" to be on the list of Top 25 players in the entire country at the end of the season?

I think Alabama has a strong team this year that is insanely talented, but that's expecting a bit much.

I do agree with ASBamaGuy that Jones should be on there, and no lower than 10 IMO. He's dominant.

I was just listing guys I thought either should be like Fluker,Jones,Warmack,Williams, and Milliner and guys who could be like the others.

Probably should have been more specific.

  • That's not a good list, IMO.

Geno Smith is a top 5 player.
Tavon Austin is a top 10 player.
Stedman Bailey is a top 25 player, IMO.

Yikes? All three are special players.

Smith is a legitimate Heisman leader.
Tavon Austin was Orange Bowl MVP overshadowing Sammy Watkins. Austin is perhaps America's most dynamic player.
Stedman Bailey is perhaps the best possession WR in college football.

I'm not following your yikes. Not applicable, IMO.

Whatever floats your boat. At least you coonAs won't go nuts if that happens since you won't win the BCSNC.

  • Hankins isn't even the best dlineman on his team let alone a top 15 player in college football. He is good sure but John Simon should be on that list instead of Hankins.

Well who gives a shit if he outplayed Watkins in one game, when actually it was more his team outplaying Watkins team

Watkins still takes a dump on Austin

And Geno Smith is okay, he put up good numbers in a gay east

Lets see what he does in another league that plays no defense but its still a step up

I hope he was just giving a list of possibilities in which 2 should, maybe 3 or 4 if you stretch it a bit, but realistically 2.

When you have depth like that, you know certain guys are going to be good, but maybe not which ones to what extent. Lacy could be a top back, but hard to put him in that range until he proves he can be the man, for example. Same with Depriest and Milliner.

Personally my issue is Fluker. Guy could be good, but is at best #3 on the team. Jones and Warmack are definitely better.

Slow the gravy train down a bit here now. Not sure that holds true in the Big 12.

Are you kidding me with this response?

The Big East champ beat the ASHESHE champ by 40 points in Orange Bowl, yet you call it "gay" east? This board deserves better than your type of discourse/posting. The ACC has won 1 let me say this again 1 BCS bowl game in last 10 years.

Geno Smith, Tavon Austin, and Stedman Bailey would all be the best players on FSU's roster hands down. IMO, the only reason FSU won a bowl game was because it played against ND who is absolutely horrid in bowl games.

Try to represent FSU better next time. Calling something gay is the best you can do? A slur that has no business on a college football board. Even more funny, is the irony of that slur was used in context of insulting a conference that's outperformed the ACC. If the Big East was that bad, the ACC has been a lot worse.

Disagree. While the Big 12 is a huge step up from Big East and bigger step from ACC competition, the three above players would be "perhaps" the best in any conference at their respective positions hands down.
