  • Who's on it? For those that are, which of you blessed souls have Premium? I've had premium for over a year now and absolutely love it.

  • It's the tits. I've had it for awhile now. Premium is very worth it if you have a smartphone. Being able to quickly customize a playlist for anything and everything and go is sweet. They get albums on their quickly too. Except for the few bands I feel deserve my money via album purchases, I rarely buy them anymore and just wait for it to come out on Spotify.

I'll be interested to see what happens competitively when other services pop up.

  • I have Unlimited, the middle ground. It's nice not having ads, considering I listen for several hours per day at work. $5 per month really isn't that much. I'm a big fan. I don't think I'd use any of the Premium features.

  • I use the free version what's the difference between unlimited and premium? I've been thinking of upgrading for some time

Unlimited just takes the ads that are normally played every so many songs out of the equation. Premium takes the ads out and you can have your Spotify library on your iPhone or whatever. The Spotify app is free it's just useless unless you have premium. You can also use offline mode which comes in handy if your in an area with shitty service.

  • I've got premium, it's great. I have the house set up with Sonos, it's real simple to set up controllers on our ipads, my s3 and her iphone. Works great when we have people over and let them control what they want to listen to. It's been few and far between what artists aren't on it. Over the past year or so it seems a lot of bands are releasing their albums to spotify around the same time it shows up on Spotify.

I use it all day at work, and I think I used it for about 20 hours this past weekend working around the house.

    Sonos + Spotify

    I highly recommend both.

No doubt. There are some artists not on there who definitely need to be added, but when it comes to getting new music out there they are unparalleled IMO. I've discovered countless numbers of great bands that I had never heard of before listening to them on there. I run mine for at least 4-5 hours every day at work, and i use it every single day when I go for a run.

Yea. Metallica just got added. Still waiting on Tool, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles and AC/DC. They are a few catalogs away from being a service that would be hard to live without.

  • i've had it for a year too. love it. they said that they are working to have all the catalogs on as they progress. their customer service is a long way from where it needs to be, although that's my only gripe.

I've haven't had to deal with customer service yet. What went wrong and how much did they shaft you?

at the time - i was attempting to monthly draft a credit card. they could not do this because their billing is done internationally. i found this out during the 3-7 day customer service turnaround time by doing some research on my own. so i found a work around, by using PayPal - worked like a charm and haven't looked at making a change. one of their representatives reached me a week later via email and just sent me troubleshooting instructions. i informed them that i'd already done what they advised and never heard from them again.

but to speak on something in your last post - most of the complaints they receive are for their billing (over charges, wrong billed amounts, billing after cancellation). luckily, i haven't experienced that (part of the reason i use PayPal - generally the process of disputing with PayPal is easier than most credit card company's.

if they overcharged me, it'd be a sad day for them.

What's the difference between Spotify and Pandora?

Spotify's main thing is being able to stream music of your choice. You can make playlists, listen to whole albums, whatever. They have a radio feature as well.

I am under the impression---I havent used it in forever---that Pandora only allows you to listen to radio of their choosing, albeit in a more direct manner by artist, genre, song etc.

Because you get to choose your music, you dont have songs snuck into the play period like on Pandora. I do remember that. I'd be listening to like classic rock radio and some pop song would come on.

Spotify has the same "listen to similar things on shuffle" feature as Pandora, but it also allows you to search for an artist, pull up their entire discography, and choose whatever song you want. Pretty cool.

I'm not sure, but I know you can connect them and it's actually kind of a mixed bag for me. People can see what you are listening to untless you turn that off, but you can go check out other people's playlists if they let you. It's a easy way to grab a mix and be inspired by what music someone else is feeling at that time.

I think Pandora allows you to basically nix songs you don't like, and as you do that, it will customize itself to what it thinks you like in music. Haven't tried Pandora myself, but I know some people really like it because it introduces new music that is related to stuff you already like. Good way to find new bands and songs that you might like.

True. I do think Pandora offers a premium as well and I assume that it doesn't have commercials either.
