Seriously, South Carolina is a great school, and I have nothing against them...it's just that so many of their fans have persisted in throwing in that they are the "real USC"...yet, that claim can be countered, using quotes from their own official university site.

    Urban Myth.

I'd wager you couldn't point to even one thread involving SoCal and, say ...Oregon, or any other school other than South Carolina...in which a South Carolina fan rushes in to inject the 'who is the real USC" debate. Anyone that's spent more than thirty seconds on any college football board knows all too well how this debate materializes: In a thread involving South Carolina, and say...any school other than Southern Cal...if a South Carolina fan refers to their school as USC, invariably some SoCal douche rushes in to transform the thread into a debate/referendum on "who is the real USC?", and trot out their talking points which are apparently kept at the ready. I guess you're just oblivious to the fact that every time you make that argument you come across totally pathetic and emotionally needy...like some chick with a sandy vag over another broad wearing the same dress she has on.

Do you really expect anyone to believe it's fans from little old South Carolina patrolling the interwebz for threads involving SoCal in which its fans might have had the temerity to refer to their school as USC??? roflmao

His thoughts on the Georgia-South Carolina game moving from the second week of the season to the sixth week in 2012:

“I don’t know. I sort of always liked playing them that second game because you could always count on them having two or three key players suspended.”

Yeah - did u catch it when Spurrior said something about Coach Saban havin to win somewhere else other than Alabsma? Dumbass forgot that Coach Saban won a national championship at LSU as well. Will b interesting to see how ole saint Nick runs up the score on his sorry ace. Will b looking for it. Steve's getting too pompous once again

You realize the only thing the lawsuit your school filed makes us do is put a tag inside all merchandise with an interlocking SC logo, that differentiates said merchandise as being for University of South Carolina.

We were a school before California was a state.

When South Carolina lost their federal appeals, they were only allowed to use the interlocking logo look for the duration of that school year... But were disallowed from receiving royalties.

If South Carolina were to continue using the interlocking logo look after being defeated at the federal court of appeals level, they would set themselves up for a no-win trademark infringement lawsuit that would result in a judgment against them that would have quite a few 0's to the left of the decimal point.

Would love to see examples of an athletic program at the University still using the interlocking logo look, though. That would be something interesting to run by my trademark attorney for his explanation.

After all, when you are denied a trademark based upon an infringement of someone else's right to use that look, If you continue Infringing upon someone else's trademark, you do so at your own risk.

Are you forgetting that you were named South Carolina College until officially re-chartered for the final time as the University of South Carolina In 1906?

Believe me...they and the rest of their conference, have made it a big issue, claiming that they are the "real USC"....I wouldn't even challenge the fact that there are two USCs, one east and one west, and certainly, both are "real". We've heard so much about this from them and their conference mates, we will voice a response...and I've posted mine, using their own words, from their own official university site.

No doubt. Our fans are the scourge of college football boards what with our pervasive and unflagging efforts to expose and challenge any effort by SoCal fans to use USC as a term of reference.

We have single-handedly made this the most gigantical issue in the whole wide world of interwebz, and may just clog up the whole damn thing. Pretty sure Al Gore is looking into whether this is a legitimate use

So as a college we weren't a school but as a university we became a school? confused

We still use the interlocking SC on everything our baseball team wears and every piece of merchandise sold.

The only people saying anything about the USC moniker are SoCal fans, 1 UGA fan, and 1 FSU fan.

    You people are whack jobs.

When you're a college till 1906, then become a University after that...are you saying you used USC before 1906? Simple logic.

Actually, I think I'm using sarcasm to an intelligent human being....if you or others were stupid, my point would be lost, and not worth the effort.

I've made all the points I care to on this subject, and I stand by my comment that I have respect for South Carolina. We are well aware that no one in the SEC respects USC, It is what it is..neither one of us should give a damn what the other thinks.
