Staff Input on Weekend's FNL

  • I would think a lot of the big time '14 kids would come to Ohio State's FNL next year if they are doing Florida's this year.

Florida's certainly has my attention. JC Shurburtt and myself will be there, as well as Gridiron Kings over the weekend.

Big dogs in Gainesville. Drinks are on Thomas and Keith since they're the new guys.

FNL at UF has, for Muschamp, become a way to put the finishing touches on the upcoming senior class and focus more on the upcoming junior class. Still doubt you'll pull more than a handful of kids from the south we actually want at ours up to yours. Especially from the deep south. Now the fringe states likes the Carolinas or Virginia, you may have more success. I see that Hand is going to y'all's.

We always get guys from Florida even while Meyer was at Florida. Osu has deep connections in that state.

Michael Brewster, Sabino, Bosa, Jaamal Berry, Etienne Sabino, Lydell Ross, Ryan Pickett, Santonio Holmes, etc were guys everyone wanted.

No offense but you guys will always play second fiddle when it comes to recruiting Florida. Sure Urb will pull a few here and there. Bosa was a legacy. Art Scott seems interested enough, probably being sold on being the next Percy. But if you're expecting a magical pipeline to appear now that your coach won two in Gainesville, I think you're setting your expectations a little too high.

We don't need a slew of players from Florida...we just pluck who is needed and continue to go nationwide.

You act like UF is comprised of just Florida players....SMH.

Staff, Do you have any input as to which of this weekends Friday Night Lights camps tOSU and FLA has a more competitive visitors list? Also any input as to players on commit watch at either school? Should be a great recruiting weekend for both schools!

Would give the edge to UF if everybody shows. Both are stacked.

Hahaha, I do? Please, tell me more. And why would I care who you do or do not need? Have you not read my posts ITT? When did I say our team is made up of only Floridians or the Ohio State will never win their conference title again unless they reach into Florida in a major way? You Buckeyes are on a roll today.

You said OSU will always play second fiddle.....and I said we just pluck who we need and move on. Were we second fiddle on Bosa,Shazier,Brewster, and Sabino? Keep trying though, you're catching up.

Oh, I'm sorry. I was under the assumption that OSU offers and recruits way more players than the handful you've named in this thread. I see now. Every guy your coaches target down here, they get. Got ya. All caught up now. Kthxbye

Afraid not my friend.. Not in rankings, or actual results.. Florida/Southest talent will always be better than Midwest talent. The results on the field when both were at their best, speak for themselves (06 and 07 title games). As did the results in last years bowl game (UF over OSU again), even with both teams down. Theres a reason OSU is top dog in the Big 10, but can't get it done agianst the best in the South. Now, with Urban recruiting nationally, if OSU has the bulk of their defensive starters from the South, things will get interesting. It's just different down here.
