Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

  • I thought it was neat seeing how Boba Fett came to life, and the corruption in the Senate throughout the three movies until they finally form the Empire in the third movie.

    Really didn't like the Second movie however. I know they were trying to portray Anakin, and Padme's love affair, but I felt like I was watching a chic flic.

    This. Add Windu to what Aussie said and that's the main attraction to the first three. I also think McGregor played a solid young Obi. Hayden Christensen can choke on a cow dick.

  • My fiance's little brother went to HS with the kid who played young Anakin. After hearing how awkward teenage years were, I'm convinced he became cursed due to being involved in Phantom Menace.

    I am not sure. it might and it might not. I see your point but at the same time i think it would still be bound to an overview of the stories because of te complexity the star wars universe has. In my perfect world each movie would be about 5 hours and there would be a crap ton of episodes starting with the old republic.

  • It's not a great movie, easily the worst of the 6 IMO, but refrain from discussing cinema on here. No offense to you guys, but nearly every movie someone brings up is, "The worst movie ever." Y'all some cynics, AMIRITE?

    You should compare them to nothing. Judge them based on what the goal was for the movie. To tell the story of pretty much how Anakin first came to become a Jedi....i think it did pretty good at that.

    Note: I saw it last night and it was awesome. Loved it just as much as i like watching the original movies.

    Attack of the Clones was terrible.

    The only one of the 3 I liked was the third. Even that one had some major flaws that have already been pointed out ITT.

    Yeah they are not perfect but they were still great movies. I can't say the same about the newer 3. Lucas got to caught up with technology and forgot about the story.

    The story could have been better no doubt. The originals could have had better fight choreography(IGN made me think of that) I like them both though. To each his own. I think everyone could agree that The Old Republic would be 100x better.

    Yeah the fight choreography was not good. That is one thing the new ones have over the old ones. The old ones didn't have the technology though.

    I would just like to see an Old Republic movie by the guys that made the trailers.

    That is true. Yeah, I would love to see a couple hours of stuff like that. It would be tough what to choose to make the movie about. The old republic had so many awesome characters.
