I still think Ohio St and TN are the teams ti beat for him. He will narrow things down soon and I will be surprised if both of those teams are not in final 2 or 3.

Georgia and Ohio St are the two teams I hear the most about when discussing Raekwon. He really likes Ohio St. His Coach played at UGA. Going to be interesting for him over next two years.

What is the deal with these Georgia kids and their fascination with Ohio State? Perhaps they need to visit in mid November up through February and perhaps then they'll decide stay in the South.

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

  • Ohio State sells itself. For some kids, weather is meaningless. With a good head coach, excellent tradition, and a history of winning & sending players to the NFL, weather is not an issue for certain kids who don't mind leaving the state.

Whether that kid be from Florida, to California, to Georgia.

Talked to a source today close to him. He is going to start setting those up soon. I will be surprised if Michigan State does not get one IMO

I love Rochell and I think he is underrated across the board. I fought for him to be where he is on 247. I saw him practice a whole week at the Rising Seniors game and he was able to hold his own against the best in Georgia. I think he can stay at DE at ND as well.

Andrew Williams is a very quick player and I like his speed. He needs to add weight. I think early on, I would watch Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech with him, IMO.

Thanks Rusty! What kind of WR is Juwan Williams(SP) and how do you see his recruitment playing out? What kind of impression is our new coach Scott Booker making on the trail in GA and who are the ten best players in GA at this time for the 2014 cycle?

You are on the right trail, but I again really like Juwaan Williams. He was playing WR for the first time during the RisingSeniors week and maybe had the best game of anyone. Great kid too off the field.

Looks like Notre Dame is making roads back in Georgia. Stephon Tuitt and TJ Jones were big for them. Now they have high level players on campus that can tell these recruits when they come how good it is etc. These are Georgia kids telling other Georgia kids. Can't put a price on that.

Right now players like Juwon Young, Raekwon McMillan, Nick Glass, Brooks Barden, Myles Autry, Tyler Harris, DJ Smith are some of the best players I have seen so far in '14.

  • Alright I have to ask... Carl Lawson... It's pretty known that UGA didn't offer him but the reason is very unclear. I have heard (obviously from the Auburn side of things) that he didn't get offered because very early it was made well known that UGA didn't have a shot due to many factors. Obviously the other thing I've heard (from the UGA side of things) was that he was not offered by UGA because the coaches at UGA don't think he's good enough for an offer. What do you think/know?

Not Rusty but I can tell you this. The explanation that we didn't offer because we were not in it for him is very inconsistent with our history of offers. We offer kids all the time who deserve offers even though we have no shot. Look at Holsey and Jaquay last year. We also offered Darby like two months before signing day. We offered Ty Isaac early this year. We offer kids all the time who are set to announce that week and we have not even contacted them before. I doubt we would change that for Lawson.

I can also say that it would be pretty dumb to think our coaches didn't offer due to him not being good enough for an offer. The most logical explanation I've heard was he would need to put on about 40 pounds to play in our defense, and his body seems pretty maxed out with good weight. Maybe just not a good fit.

  • Demarcus Robinson (WR, Peach Co.) sure seems like a guy that UGA could get. I know, with Peach, there is usually pressure to stay in state (UGA) or Auburn, but he---so far---has chosen Clemson. Any chance UGA might get in on him?

He's never showed us too much interest, just always included us in his top schools. Our best shot at him was at DawgNight. Our coaches spent a lot of time with him and the camp reportedly went well but as you saw he committed to Clemson shortly after.

We have 1 more spot for WR and Marquez North and JUCO Jonathon Rumph are probably the top on the board for that position.

I can only say my opinion. What I can see from Alabama and Georgia are looking at same fits for their 3-4 schemes.(Bigger type 6-4, 275+ bodies) Lawson to me is a picture perfect 4-3 DE IMO. I think he can play in space if needed in the 3-4 at OLB, but he is best with his hand on the ground coming off the edge.

I said it in December, he reminds me of David Pollack. Not the tallest prospect but an incredible motor. He was unblockable at times during the Rising Seniors game.

For whatever reason, UGA chose not to recruit him hard during the spring. He only went to ONE camp this summer. He came to my MVP Camp and put on a show. Few weeks later he went to UGA DawgNight and did well there.

It was a simple case of too little too late.

Of course Auburn idiots would say we didnt offer becuz it was made clear UGA didnt have a shot at him... Thats how it is for every player they get and we dont offer obviously... They say whatevet makes them look better.

Just recently saw him at a 7 on 7. Much longer than I thought. Needs to gain weight but has a good frame as a CB.
