It's not a campground in the wilderness.

This is a cottage on the lake with central air.

And I plan on fishing regardless.

I am actually about 5 mins from Devils Lake. I won't give you a list of 'attractions' because they really aren't that great. The Irish Hills are nice and there is lots of golf to be played as well, but my advice is spend as much time as you can on the lake.

Grab a shit ton of grilling items and lots of beer, be on the lake at noon and just drink and eat alllllll day. Bonfire at night and you are living the lake life. Partying over at MIS (which I assume you are going to if you picked this weekend) can be a good time as well. Watch out for cops though because they are everywhere, especially on the lakes. Drinking and driving, though never smart, is next level stupid this weekend. Make friends with locals because everyone is really friendly in this area and will show you a good time.

EDIT: And don't talk trash to a Michigan fan, their arrogance will be like the lake your swimming in, it is everywhere and you can't argue with it. A Wolvie this week was convinced they had 12 National Titles since 1950, even after I showed him multiple websites saying he is wrong he was convinced he was right. The Walmart is strong in this area.

As opposed to Ohio. Yes, Ohio....such a beautiful destination...there's, uhh, toledo..yes! Toledo is a destination...and..uhh, Cleveland...yes, and you can see cleveland at night when lake eerie is on fire!
