Sean Payton will be the coach next year unless Garrett wins a playoff game IMO.
Still, must be nice to have an owner who cares about winning. I can't wait until the day I get to piss on Mike Brown's grave.

If that was the case, I would think they would have just stuck it out while the case was still open and just kept him on. I can see the view that they would want to release him and then renegotiate for a smaller salary, but that's too much risk for New Orleans to take IMO when the guy is a known commodity and several teams will be looking for a new coach.

After researching it, apparently I misunderstood it. The NFL basically canceled the contract. That said, the Saints seem to be low-balling Payton or fighting him on terms for a new contract. The fact that New Orleans' management really didn't go to battle for him after the cancellation was announced and that they haven't wised up to letting him draw up his own terms and I would agree with AG that Payton might just tell them to eff off.
