UF has done fairly well since Spurrier left for the NFL..... a couple Naty's and a few wins. What makes you say it would be so different? Even this past season they were right in the hunt up until the end. Just curious as to whether you think they would have been better to have had him back...

They would have cornered the market. At least, in the East they would have. SOS has taken USCe and put them on the map when they are/were statically one of the worst SEC programs of all time. Think about what he could do with talent. Think about what he could do with his pick of whatever QB he wanted. Or whatever WR he wanted. Or actually having a defense What he would do is, win like he did in the late 90's IMO.
CUM was a good hire at the time. He did well with Tebow but he didn't do anything SOS couldn't have done IMO. CUM had UF as the premier team in the country and quit. He quit because things got tough. He knew he couldn't compete with Saban so he left. I mean, the poor guy literally almost died. Now instead of riding out that great success and using it to recruit at an even higher level, you have to transition to another coach and a completely different offense. SOS would be in his 4,000th year at UF now and have them reloading. Now, instead, they are trying to plug in players to fit a system left with holes. It has put them behind the 8 ball for a few years thus allowign other programs to catch up. They are not alone at the top of the East anymore.
Also, Muschamp will never win the SEC IMO. He was a great pull, but the guy is just not an elite SEC head coach. To be fair, though, not many are. He just isn't ready for prime time yet. SO after he leaves, that will be your 3rd coach when instead you could have had one. Now instead of winning the East every year and playing Saban or LSU for it all, you are just trying to get back to Atlanta. Basically, it has cost UF their foothold on the SEC and they might not get it back til Saban leaves.

The idea that spurrier can't be jealous of Saban because he turned down the Alabama job seems off base. If anything, I think it would add to the jealousy. He realizes he made a mistake and he can't stand to see the success Saban has had, so he feels the need to take jabs at every turn to make himself feel better. It would be very hard to turn down a great opportunity and then see someone come in and establish themselves as the best coach of modern college football.

Those two wins at UF came in Saban's first two years in the SEC. That's even worse than being excited about the win in 2010. Spurrier has never beaten an elite Saban team. Les Miles, Kevin Sumlin, and Ron Zook are the only ones that can say that. Spurrier lost to the only elite Saban team he ever faced.

you do realize he turned down a few top schools because he wanted a challenge. He didn't turn down Alabama or Florida b/c he wanted it to be "easy". He took South Carolina because he wanted a challenge, simple as that. Why would he mad or jealous at Saban's success when he didn't want the job in the 1st place?

Lol sc people trying to talk football. Lsu wasn't shit before saban. They literally hadn't done anything. Saban changes that around. Then he takes a floundering Bama program and rights the ship. And you try to say Spurrier is on par with saban. Lol, not even close

yeah, they sucked. 4th best All time record in the SEC, 14th best all time winning percentage in the nation. been to over 45 bowl games, 14 conference titles, 8 division titles
745–393–47 (.649) all time record and winning percentage, they were historically a terrible program.
