Subway or Quiznos?

  • Lesticals said...

    Solid.

Ever been to ''Which wich"? So damn good

They just put one of these in Birmingham & one in Tuscaloosa. I haven't tried it yet but I want to. I'm a big sandwhich guy...there's just nothing like a good sandwhich for lunch.

As for Subway vs. Quizno's, I'll take Subway all day. Quizno's is more about aesthetics than performance IMHO. My standard is a footlong turkey & ham with provolone cheese toasted on flatbread, with lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, black olives, mayo. and avacado spread since they added it to their arsenal...tongue No chips, just the sandwhich.

I like firehouse too but I listed subway and Quiznos because they're the 2 major places for subs

Where I'm at, it's easier to get to firehouse than Quiznos. Subway is on every corner though.

Well, of course not literally but as far as service, quality of meat (even though Subway is much healthier) and vegetables. It's a good place for subs for the poors, IMO.

    Agree to disagree.

Subway is pretty healthy for a chain and McDonalds isn't at all.

Subway and Quiznos are the same price too

I think I'm stating it wrong. Subway is a ton healthier than McDonald's. All I'm saying is if we're comparing apples to apples, Subway is on the lower echelon of sub places as McDonald's is too fast food IMO. Like for instance.....Wendy's, Whataburger, etc>>>>> McDonald's and Firehouse, Publix, Jimmy Johns>>>>> Subway.

  • Pita Pit is hands down my favorite though in the Subway/Quizno's etc genre. Being able to get the vegetables grilled is clutch & they have a bunch of good sauces & different choices of subs.

  • Publix is the best. Their pressed subs are fantastic drool
    The Philly
    The Italian
    The Ultimate

Fire House is very close to Publix for me. I like almost every sub on their menu.
    The Beef& Cheddar Brisket
    The Steamer
The Kings Hawaiian Pork and Slaw
    The Philly
    Hook & Ladder

Quizno's and Subway dont even come close to these other 2

  • Of sandwich places I've been to:

    Firehouse >> McAllister's >> Roly Poly >> Jimmy John's >> Lenny's >> Jason's Deli >> Quizno's >> Which wich >> Subway

Bonus points to McAllister's for having the best sweet tea. No way any other deli comes close to Firehouse, IMO.

  • Not the biggest fan of Subway. Don't get enough meat on the sandwich for the price.

    1. New York Butcher Shoppe(there's one in Cahaba Heights just off Pumphouse Road. BEST sandwich in Alabama. Everything is sliced in house from the meat to the cheese to the bread)

    2. Lenny's(love the roast beef and provolone. Lived off that in Knoxville even with Jersey Mike's a block up)

    3. Quizno's(prime rib peppercorn with no onions)

    4. Firehouse: Beef Brisket with provolone or the steamer with extra italian dressing. The Firehouse in Homewood has Coke Freestlye and that ish is awesome.

  • not really understanding why so many people cite subway is healthy..

yes, subway is healthy if you have just a 6 inch turkey on wheat with no mayo... but how many of the people on the board truly do that?

eating a 12 inch loaf of subway bread for lunch will not make anyone a pants size smaller.. let alone what you put in the sandwich

to answer the OP... i would go subway over quiznos.. employees at quiznos actually get pissed if you ask for extra tomato

nobody is saying subway itself is inherently healthy. it is just healthier than the alternative.

theres a reason that subway makes the eat this, not that in mens health while no other fast food restaurant does. theres a reason its endorsed by the american heart association and no other fast food restaurant is.

if you go in there and order something that is 1000 calories then you werent going to eat healthy no matter where you went so whats the difference

yes, i'm fat. yes i go in there and order a 6 inch turkey with no chips because i'm trying to do better
