It is absurd that religious beliefs supersede human rights and there are laws to prevent a person equality in any manner.

We are close, but not yet there

Marriage isn't a "right". It's an institution, one that originated in the church. The church doesn't recognize gay relationships as blessed, therefore, the church and its people don't support gay marriage. These people are entitled to their beliefs as mandated by the first amendment. If you want the right to legal partnership and consequential tax breaks, come up with a different approach and call it something other than marriage. Don't try to impose your will on a sacred institution that is thousands of years old. What's also not okay is when we vote on an issue overwhelmingly one way and the government goes and throws it's weight around by trying to work around what the people wanted. There is too much government control in this country. This is why it was stupid to reelect Obama. He's only going to institute more control. He won't be happy until this is a socialist nation. Because of his stupidity (and leftist ideals in general), people are losing hours at work (because many businesses can't afford to pay for their Obamacare health insurance required for full time employees and it was stupid to try to make them do it in the first place), Hostess went out of business (because instead of letting people lose out on raises, their union would rather strike until the company went under and then there was NO money for anyone anymore), and the government is trying to gain more control by working its way around the people that voted. There's also the ongoing war on religion. These are only a few of the reasons why Obama is truly a poison on this country.

As a Catholic, I'm really hoping this law passes. The fight against homosexuality in the church is based on the belief that Homisexuality is a mental disorder brought on by childhood or other sexual abuse/trauma. You can look at any psychological study and find otherwise. I love my church, but I believe we have made human mistakes before?

If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting

If the Bible is truly the word of God, and these passages make it clear what God's stance on homosexuality is, then that's good enough for me. My vote will always be for God's will. God > human/church politics

Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

  • People against gay marriage are funny. Do you actually think you are gong to stop the momentum towards it? it's a battle you are not going to win and don't deserve to win anyways. This is a civil rights issue and will hopefully be solved in the near future.

    Complete ignorance.

The fact is civil unions don't provide the same benefits that marriages do. Gay people aren't "imposing their will" any more than Martin Luther King did.

The most important question is why do you even care. Two dudes getting married legally has absolutely zero effect on your life.

Deuteronomy 20:10-16 tells us that, after capturing a city, the conquerors should kill all the men, and enslave the women and children.

Exodus 22:2-3 even tells us that a thief should be sold into slavery if he can't make restitution.
