Great 30 for 30 going right now about the 1983 NC State team. Valvano was the man, I didn't know alot about him until this.

I worked a basketball camp with him back in the day at Pocono Invitational Basketball Camp. I was actually at the first dinner that was held in his honor after he passed that was the start of the Jimmy V foundation.

You might be the guy to ask. I googled and didn't find much, what's the deal with the 3 point line during this season. They used it during ACC play then not during the tournament? The line was on the floor for some games then not in others.

They were toying with the idea and most thought it was for the pro game only and that it was a gimmick so to speak. When they saw the amount of enthusiasm with it, it stuck. I'm not really sure why some games they did and others they did not.... He was such a good guy. Not that I knew him personally, but I worked with him and talked a bit to him and he was always frank, honest and in for a good laugh.

Thats the way I was too. I obviously knew they won and the game winner was that crazy play, but I had no clue about the rest. How many missed free throws did they benefit from? Seemed like every game they needed some missed free throws to help them out.
