THE Best College Football Rivalry, Hands Down, IMO

    It's a pretty big rivalry, but Michigan fans deny it.

    IMO, the biggest rivalry is the Iron Bowl. Just watched the ESPN 30 for 30 on Netflix last night. Been to an UofM vs. OSU game back in the 90's, no way it matches the intensity of the Alabama vs. Auburn rivalry. No way.

    yawn. lived in ann arbor and ohio 18 years...um/osu is a one week a year rivalry...Bama auburn is 24/7 365. i grew up walking the sidelines of bo's practices and um games. family very connected to um athletic dept...football in michigan/ohio is night and day compared to the passion of football in alabama.

    those cincy moeller boys couldn't believe what it was like going to the iron bowl...befor and after the game, they were like...'this is insanity'.

    look osu much is great...i eat sausage and drink bloody mary's in the am while i'm watching it.

    Alabama / Auburn is a great in state rivalry, no doubt. It's unique.

    It isn't the best.

    And Cincy is basically the capital of Kentucky. Cute story though.

    I live in Canton, Ohio. We celebrate football from pee wee to the pros. It's a Saturday only event in Alabama.

  • I guess since people are being overly biased the only real way to decide is to get a poll where you cant pick your team... Honestly iron bowl is pure hatred but that is just the state of alabama... FSU vs Miami or UF has decided title games...

    And that bleacher report article is funny as hell... Uf/Ga is in no way close to FSU/Miami.

    I live in Birmingham. The craziest football environment I've been in was when my high school played @Paul brown tiger stadium for a high school playoff game in Massillon Ohio, 2000. College football in Alabama and Ohio are very similar. However, high school football in Ohio is soooo much bigger than here. Sunday is church day here...they may not know the NFL exists.

    Newborn boys are given footballs in their cribs here. Many guys (and women) are buried in a Massillon Tiger casket. It's cradle to grave, literally. People who have never lived in this area will never understand.

    I'm not sure if you remember last years Massillon / Glen Oak game but it was the game Dunn went off for 134 yards in the 4th quarter (he had 249 total). He scored two TDs in the 4th to give GO the lead 22-21 with less than 5 mintues left. There was an inadvertent whistle on a potential GO fumble (it was definitely a fumble) with just over a minute left. Instead of giving Massillon the ball at midfield, it allowed GO to run the clock out.

    That ref had to basically go into witness protection for fear of his life.

    Massillon and GlenOak meet again tonight. It's going to be a hell of a game.
