  • I love how a good amount of the scUM fans can't read well enough to understand the OP said to list one team.

  • #1 has to be UM. Fuking tired of their last minute heroics the past three years. #2 USC because it's USC and we need to add on to our lead over them bastards, this won't be the year. #3 Miami going to love kicking them when they're down. #4 OU in Norman would be like old times..

How do you think your fan base reacts if ND ends up losing all these games? Calling for BK’s head?

Most logical ND fans aren't expecting to be world beaters. 8-5/9-4 would be nice, but could easily go 7-6 or worse. BK's job is safe with everything pointing to 2013 being his make or break year. I just want to see him find a fuking QB not named Rees.

UM/Miami are winnable. OU/USC at this time not so much. Stanford/MSU same boat as UM/Miami. BYU isn't going to be a cakewalk either. If Golson emerges as I expect we could finally have a QB that fits BKs offense. If Gunner Kiel sees the field we're in trouble.

Trying to be as objective as possible, I think Stanford, and BYU are games you will/should win. UM and Miami (very underrated especially with not having that bum Jacory weigh them down anymore), are toss ups, and I think MSU, OU, and USC are games that you will/should lose next year. If I had to bet you guys would go 3 and 4 out of that group. I really like that you guys are playing BYU now, should make for an interesting game. “The Religion War” or the Romney’s vs. Santorum’s lol

Please no, I take it back then bow. lol Idk I just feel like they’re going to exceed expectations and be really good next year, as painful as that is for me to say that. Playmakers on both sides of the ball and IMO a potential top 15 pick in Will Gholston. I don’t think it’s going to a blowout or anything, I just think that’s a game you guys will lose IMO. Could be wrong tho.

So if MSU is going to exceed expectations and be really good in '12, what do you think your chances are of "embarrassing MSU"?

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

lol Not good. That has to with my dislike of some in your fan base who think you are now the perennial football power in the state of MI. Hoping and expecting are two different things.

Perennial power? Perhaps a bit strong. But we definitely have the groundwork to (at least) be the next Iowa or Wisconsin: a consistent competitor that can't be overlooked. No doubt that we'll compete for the B10 title next year, as will UM.

Fair enough lol. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything between your two posts. I think MSU is pretty solid going forward, but it'd take approx. 20 years of beating UM regularly (and winning multiple Big 10 titles) to make MSU the "perennial" football power in MI. Figure our teams will be having some pretty good games going forward.

On that note, I really see MSU replacing Iowa in the Big 10 pecking order in this decade. I think their success is at an end under Ferentz.

Agree. When I said some I probably should have used “trolls”, since those are the ones I seem to encounter and hate so much. I would not mind at all if this became one of the better in-state rivalries in college football, because the inevitable change of date of “The Game”, is coming and you guys are going to be the last team on our schedule.

Plus, with the divisional format, the MSU - UM game is going to matter more for the CCG (i.e., divisional win and the accompanying tie-breaker edge) and in turn, a shot at the Rose Bowl. The Game, in of itself, won't be for the Rose, though anytime UM - tOSU meet in the CCG it'll be a big deal.

That said, since tOSU-UM are guaranteed to have at least 1 L between them, the loser of the Game pretty much has 0 room for error in their other 7 Big 10 games. That further reduces the chances of both squads meeting in the CCG.

Edit: i'm going to copy and paste this into the MSU - UM thread to keep our banter out of this general thread. Sorry guys from other fanbases!

  • Clemson. Given we have to beat them to play for our primary goal (play for and win ACC title), we must beat them.

    Honorable Mention:
Miami is just a rivalry and they need to beat us to bring them back some credibility. I expect them to play us tough, regardless.
Florida.....was close to being #1, only because I severely hate them.
VT...meh. We can lose to them and still likely play for ACC title. They are traditionally a solid program, though.
    USF...payback.
