You hear this term all the time. If we play our best game, we can beat anyone.
My question for everyone is this:
If your team hasn't played their "best game" after 8 weeks of college football, does that level truly exist? I guess I just don't understand that concept. I know that teams can have bad games and maybe aren't "up" for every game, but if that becomes consistant, then maybe the team just isn't what we thought orginally.
Just taking up time.

I disagree. Look at BAMA in 2010. We didn't play our best all year and we kept saying If we played our best we would dominate. Then the 2010 capital one bowl game happened and we absolutely played our most complete game of the Saban era up to that point. It was the most dominating game I've ever seen.

I don't put too much stock in meaningless bowl games, except for maybe bragging rights or something like that.
Besides, we had some great games in 2010 early in the season as well. We looked great for the first 5 weeks that season. Then also dismantled some other teams as well. Personally, the only game that we just played awful in was probably the South Carolina game, IMO. Even the other losses weren't bad. LSU and Auburn would have beaten Michigan St pretty bad as well that season, IMO.

Right but in that stretch the only team of quality they faced was Stanford and they lost.
My point is that maybe you could see it coming, but the Oregon game was BY FAR the best SC played as a team all season. It was their Super Bowl and they played like it. Had they played like that against Stanford they would have won, handily, IMO.

Damn fumble!
Since I grew up in California, I do still pull for SC, but even though I don't care that much anymore, I still have passion for the in-state games. I have family out there that are UCLA, Cal, and Stanford fans, so those are still big game for me and my dad.
Of course, my mom went to Cal as you know, so they still watch that one closely even though they are now Bama fans first.
UCLA is a dirty word for both of them as you can imagine.

Not sure if it was a super bowl senario or more of a I'm taking your lunch money in front of all these recruits you brought in along with any available celeb you could find in the NW. Did the same exact thing to ND last season and I wouldn't consider that our "super bowl" either.

I hate the term too, but the SCar v. Bama in 2010 was an example of "best game". Garcia looked like Joe Montana, and defense was lights out. That was the only game we played to that level, and probably wasn't representative of the type of team we were for most of the year.
