Good DC? Good recruiter? Wont be the LB coach, what other pos can he coach?

Auburn gave up the most combined yards in a season in their history this year under Roof.
The only rapings going on at PSU now will be during the football games.

All kidding aside, he is a great man and will represent the university well... however from the comments the players were making after Chizik took over the defense, I'd be worried.

Him and Chizik didn't have the same base philosophies, he is more of a 4-2-5 guy.

Wasn't Roof just hired as the HC at UCF or something? Either way, I am not saying this because i am a bama fan, but why the hell would O'brien hire Roof? He was absolutely terrible at Auburn.

i also apologize for laughing, I was just ready for him to go after we won the natty but you can't fire a man after that but i don't think he is very good but maybe he will turn a new leaf with the big 10

Thanks Aubie. We are loaded on DL and LB for the next 3 years, and have maybe the best dl/lb coaches in the nation. Hopefully it works well for him.

not a great recruiter in my opinion...alot of our recruits that were highly rated were offensive guys so i wouldnt put a ton of stock into him as a recruiter

We mainly ran Cover 2, but like someone else said, I think that was more Chizik's call. When Roof was hired, we heard he was a big 4-2-5 guy.

Well we love LB's who can play all 3 natural positions. Have our returning starter, a true Soph at MLB who is a typical B10 lb. So got one big guy. Really appreciate all the info.
He will have an EXCELLENT DL to go with his defense. LJ is the best in cfb. About to put out his 7th first round draft pick this year with Devon Still.
