They landed with Dooley last time....

What makes you think they get any better this time?

I know you're just flaming but there is a litany of evidence as to why the job is more desirable now then before. Flame on though shortbus.

It's every fan base once they are on a coaching search. Same with UF.

They name the top 5 available coaches and then coach #6 is hired

    Agree

If I were a vol my number one pick would be stoops

He's a proven big time coach and may or may not be looking for a way out of Norman

I know he has lost on the big stage a few times but he will flat out put a good team on the field year after year

    Stoops wants out of OK?

I can see that. But would he WANT to do that type of high level recruiting? You see guys like Spurrier and Tubberville who just dislike recruiting their asses off. But you do have a point. If he went out and did it, it would be hard for a lot of kids to turn him down.

My biggest fear is his being able to develop talent. that's still a complete 100% mystery.

Haven't you seem his QB tv show? He seems like a natural at developing at recruiting. Great hire. I hope he's still available in one or two years if kiffin doesn't cut the mustard

Meyer wasn't MEYER when he signed with us.

Tenn fans have listed the 5 best candidates. Historically coaching searches rarely end with your top 5.

Just like Florida. We ended with Muschamp after talking about 5 other coaches the whole time.

When y'all hired Meyer there was no doubt he was the best coach on the market that offseason. I am still stunned he took the Florida job over the ND job.

The same thing that brought Meyer to UF is what ended up making him leave. He came to UF cause he knew he could recruit the best of the best. Not sure he realized before he got here that everyone else in the SEC can recruit the best too, and the league got to competitive for him. He knew another Tim Tebow wasnt walking through those doors, and the road back to the top would be a long one. So he bounced, and joined the Big 10. HUGE dropoff in competition, but yet he can still recruit the top players he got while at UF. Smart "business" decision by him to be honest. But as we all know, he totally went about it the wrong way
