Tennessee fans what do you think about this?

  • Did he not get along with the new staff and followed Sunseri or was it something else?

Yes, played RB for them but I forget when

Im pretty excited about him, even though I doubt he is at FSU long

He has a seriously talented bunch to work with, I expect big things from the run game finally

First time in around 7 or 8 years I have actual confidence that FSU will be able to run on anybody they play

And if my mans Pender stays out of jail then its on for realz

  • My question would be, who would pay you if the athletic dept goes bankrupt?

  • There's a lot more to this story that will never get released. There was some sort of discussion over the last month when recruiting responsibilities were being delegated, and he got himself in a bad place by not backing off what he wanted in terms of title and money. This was in the works prior to the announcement, and our mods reported that he had decided to come back, then woke up the next day and decided against it.

Look, FSU got a great RB coach. He is one of the better coaches at that position, and we took a bit of a downgrade with the new coach. Congrats to them.

But, if you think this had any effect of great magnitude on Jalen Hurd, you are kidding yourself. He is the exact same situation as Vonn Bell. If we win a good amount of games and show progress, he'll come home to Knoxville. We put out a crappy product on the field, and fail to compete with the Big 3 (Florida, Georgia, Alabama), or at least one of the big 3, he will go elsewhere. OSU probably has a lead atm because of the relationship the coach up there has. In state pressure, with marked improvement in the team, would beat that in the end.

Ask the government how they do it.

I don't disagree with you, nor did I say it would be easy. Hurd will probably end up going out of state. Butch will have to pull a Hugh Freeze coaching job considering the schedule we are drawing. He will get Hugh Freeze results if he does though.

Wasn't me and you also said he'll end up there. That was what I was referring to... That's a bold statement, considering you are playing some serious catch-up....

Sorry for the accusation then. I said he would end up there with marked improvement from the team. I'm not predicting marked improvement by any means. I went on to say that he will probably go elsewhere in another post. We are in a rebuilding year until I am proven otherwise by the football team in the fall.

'Preciate it. Poured some on the ground for you guys back in the late 90s and early 00's. We'll be back. As much as many people will hate it, we will be back to competing for championships in the SEC and nationally.

I think it is going to be some time before that happens. 4th in the East right now and UGA, UF, and USC are all trending up

They all appear to be trending up. Florida is not sure how their quarterback is truly going to work out, Georgia has no definite idea of how their quarterback situation will work out (edit: once Murray leaves) or how their defense will settle with the new pieces, and USCe is not a definite in any area besides line play. All it takes is one bad piece to ruin a season and go 7-6 instead of 11-1. That bad season has to disperse the recruits to someone. If UT gets lucky and has a good 8-4 season thrown in during that struggle, they pop right back in the discussion.

No one really knows how it will play out, and when the fluxes will occur. I'm also not claiming the scenario I described above is destined for next season or twenty years from now. I just know that the change in power will occur, and typically that is how it goes down. USCe benefited from a couple of down years in 08-09 to pick up some great players that UT had no competition with because of their record.

It amazes me how much flack Driskel still gets

The kid is damn good.... he just had no WR's last year, he did go 11-2 with a meaningless bowl game loss in his first year as the main QB, he also beat out a very talented kid named Jacoby Brissett for those that forgot already

I liked what I saw from Driskel last year despite his boneriffic passing yardage total, which again... was a direct result from throwing to some total boners at WR

I will eat total crow if he comes out and balls when he has some weapons. But the better quarterbacks are efficient with mediocre talent at WR.

He had a fantastic record last year, and managed the game well, but I don't recall a game where he took control of the game, and willed the Gators to victory (regardless of his players to throw to). That was Gillislee all year.
