Teo's Statement

  • Teo's statement is complete bs. He said before that she had come to Hawaii, and that he had seen her in person. Now all he says is that he talked to her online and on the phone.

    "This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and I grew to care deeply about her. "To realize that I was the victim of what was apparently someone's sick joke and constant lies was, and is, painful and humiliating. "It further pains me that the grief I felt and the sympathies expressed to me at the time of my grandmother's death in September were in any way deepened by what I believed to be another significant loss in my life. "I am enormously grateful for the support of my family, friends and Notre Dame fans throughout this year. To think that I shared with them my happiness about my relationship and details that I thought to be true about her just makes me sick. I hope that people can understand how trying and confusing this whole experience has been. "In retrospect, I obviously should have been much more cautious. If anything good comes of this, I hope it is that others will be far more guarded when they engage with people online than I was. "Fortunately, I have many wonderful things in my life, and I'm looking forward to putting this painful experience behind me as I focus on preparing for the NFL Draft."

    Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

    How does a guy fall in love with someone, even online, and then never visit her in the hospital while she has leukemia? Or for that matter after she gets into a serious car accident? He just blew all that off because he had football practice?

    This is true. I can't get into big specifics but Manti is a much more sheltered and naive kid than anyone would believe.

    Growing up as a Moremon kid in Laie can do that, and if he is telling the truth, he lied to his parents about her making it to Oahu and about their relationship so it didn't seem like a fishy online relationship. His best friends didn't know it was a hoax.

  • Dude's gay, had a fake gf to satisfy his morman Mom and Dad, then messed up by not just fake breaking up and saying she died. Then the national sports media got hold of the story and it took off and Teo couldn't ever find a way to stop the story so just kept playing along and inlisted a friend (boyfriend?) to help him keep the hoax going. It just kept going from there getting bigger and bigger, along the way Teo realized that by playing along and keep the hoax going that it would help him win a ton of trophy hardware for this football season, maybe even a heisman (boy did the heisman folks dodge a big one)

    This is the most likely scenario and I would be surprised that is what is ultimately shown to have happen.
