Terrelle Pryor faults OSU for failing to develop him as a QB?

  • “Coming out of high school, I was just an athlete that just, whenever the guy was open, I didn’t know what I was reading,” he said. “When I saw a guy open, I threw the ball. Now, coming out of college, I learned to read defenses. I wasn’t blessed enough to be at a powerhouse that you learn that stuff as a quarterback. So, I’m working and I’m going to get good.”

  • But wait, wasn't the entire reason that he chose OSU over Michigan simply the fact that they would develop him in a pro-style offense? shrug

    Terrelle Pryor is a joke.

I thought Pryor specifically chose OSU over UM for its pro-style system.

    What a terrible POS.

Hah! Beat me to it, practically word-for-word.

At least he wouldn't have had to leave school early after a tattoo scandal if he had chosen Michigan.

Well, he didn't learn English. Truthfully, I don't know what the hell he is saying.

OSU has never been a NFL elite QB factory, we have put some journeymen in the league but no real stars. I don't see that changing with this coach either

  • Or he was just a lazy kid that tried to cruise on his natural ability instead of going the extra mile and actually take it upon himself to learn and improve. Maybe instead of getting free tatoos, he should have watched more film, or gotten some more off-season 7-on7's together.

Alex Smith has done ok in the NFL, but I don't think much (if any) of that can be attributed to Meyer. I predict a bunch of 3rd/4th-round project QBs who end up as athletes trying to catch on somehow with a team.

He could've at least tattooed coverage schemes on his arms. shrug

Well if he does mean that then he is an idiot because he transferred to Jeanette from another school pryor to his Junior year. He could have choose between a number of really good catholic or prep schools, but he choose Jeanette for some reason and now bash it. fail

I'll take a bunch of 3rd and 4th round QB's. Alabama and LSU don't need 1st round qb talent to win Natties. Troy Smith was our last one. Pryor did get terrible QB coaching at OSU. He also relied solely on his athletic ability and was dumb as a rock.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying OSU is going to have bad QBs at all. But we all recognize that the QBs Meyer wants for his scheme aren't the kind that go in the first round of the NFL draft (unless they're arguably the best college QB of all time and a certain front office really reaches). I could honestly see another Eric Crouch situation coming out of OSU in the next 5 years.

His QB coach was a glorified videograpgher.

To be fair, Pryor's mental and physical abilities as a QB are severely lacking.

Honestly, he should've played WR or stuck to basketball. No matter what OSU did or didn't do, this kid was never going to develop NFL skills at QB.
