  • Next 3 games
    @ Oklahoma St
    Vs W. Virgina
    Vs Oklahoma

How do they finish that strech??? I say 1-2. They beat Oky St, lose the other two games. This is wear Macks got to prove hes worth that 5 Million they pay him. Hes gotta go 2-1 or Longhorn fans will be calling for his head. Also is Mack worth wat he gets paid?? I know Texas fan will tell you look at his resume, but I will say what have you done for me lately? Look at the last two years, unbelivable to go from a MNC game, to.5-7 with that talent.

Mack is safe no matter what the outcome of these three games. He could be governor of Texas if he wanted.

How do u finish in that strech?? Foreal tho u wouldnt be pissed at Mack if u guys finished 8-4 this year bruh??

    NPS13

  • No worries, we'll go 2-1 with the lone loss to OU, imo.

    pepper11

  • I think if Texas beats OkSt then the team will finish that stretch of games 2-1. If not, 0-3.

Put down the crack pipe, brah.

    Tom Riddle

  • If our defense makes tackles well be in all three games. If we miss tackles and give up big plays it could get ugly early.

I think with our running game we'll wear teams down and if we can control the clock we have a legit shot to win all three of those games. Our play action is key as well, if theose defenses can limit our deep balls were not on offense that can keep up in a shootout with other teams. We have to capatlize when we go deep and we have to get the balls into our speedsters hands.

  • Diaz has a good record against dual threat qbs. He held Cam to his worst offensive output. He held Denard to 14 pts I think. We held Colin Klein to his worst game last year and we held Wallace really well last week. im more worried about Geno and his arm because Bailey and Austin are playmakers so we have to limit those guys' deep plays.

WVUs defense can be beat, but our issue is can we limit their offensive big plays? Can we hold them to FGs in the red zone? Those are going to be the keys. If we can do both of those I think we win.

  • Mack Brown is safe regardless of the outcome of these 3 games. My best guess is 2-1 with a loss to WVU. But it could just as easily be 0-3 or 3-0. A lot depends on how Ash performs and how much our OL has improved. Early signs are positive, but the team hasn't faced adversity yet.

    VaHorn

  • I think they beat OSU Saturday, lose to WV and I will say we win but it's going to be closer than last year...they have improved a lot as a team on defense and running game, Ash is playing better as well

I do think Ash better not throw lob passes like he did against Ole Miss going forward, they will be INTs against other teams, he just needs not to turn the ball over and they will be in every game

WV is damn good offensively and if it's a shootout I don't think Texas can keep up (not many teams could) but Texas' D is good

  • They go 1-2, losing to WV and OU.

If Ole Miss puts up 31 points, WV should score quite a few themselves.

Well you also have to keep in mind WV's defense is terrible. They gave up 34 to Marshall. The WV game will be a toss up where however scores last will win.

I personally think Texas will go 2-1 during that stretch.

no reason we shouldnt be able to score 40 against wvu , as far as OU goes that game is always a toss up but OU has been having a ton of line issues that kstate will expose this weekend.

if Ash keeps lobbing the ball in the air expect a lot more INTs...good thing Ole Miss' secondary is terrible or that game would have been a lot closer than it was

it almost like he did it on purpose. everytime the passes were a little under thrown and it looked liked the wrs were ready to turn back n catch it but I agree that better corners/ safeties will pick that. I think we were trying to make it a point to throw deep to prove we could stretch the field

this is the most annoying bullshit coming from uneducated cfb fans. you can't simply look at recruiting classes and translate that to talent. you have to look at who is still on the roster. texas' recruiting classes from 07-09 were absolutely gutted by attrition - mostly grades, some legal. look at who was playing ol for the 2010 team, what year they were and what they were recruited to play. hell, we had a 3* tight end recruited for depth playing right tackle! look at how many wr were recruited that left the team for whatever reason. dt as well.

i'm not excusing the coaching staff from recruiting issues at all, because they seriously f*ed up on a whole shltload of evaluations from 06-10, but the simple fact is that the 2010 team had absolutely nothing in terms of talent, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

you guys can stretch the field for sure, your offense is much improved from last year and your defense looks to be as good as last year...parts of the Ole Miss game there were some tackling issues and players running wild in the secondary

gotta correct that but those things are correctable, as for Ash he took what was given and with Ole Miss having no answer why change it up

With your running game, Ash should get ample time to make throws in the pocket...he won't need to lob it but if he does, lob it against us please lol

true or not, Texas should never have that problem and they should never lose more games than they win

you guys are the marquee school in a top 3 population size school with 1000+ D1 athletes to choose from and you guys almost always get your first picks and top priorities out of the state

no reason for Texas to not win at least 8 games every year, I read where Mack was so deflated after the MNC loss that he didn't have the energy or the passion in 2010...he blames it on himself and his coaching staff because they just weren't in it like they should have been

that's the 1st time he's been allowed/encouraged to throw deep and he lobbed less and led more as the game went on. agree that those lobs/back shoulder throws will get picked against a better secondary who's seen that on film and is ready for it. hopefully, the staff trusts him to make those throws now and works on them more during practice and lets him throw them during games.

don't really disagree w/ any of that. but after 9 seasons of 10+ wins, i'll cut the guy some slack.

there's not a team in cfb that could have competed w/ the players we had on the 2010 team. don't have time to go digging for the attrition right now, but maybe tonight i'll look for all the players that left the team for whatever reason over those 2-3 years. i want to say the entire ol class from 07 or 08 left and over 50% of the entire 07 or 08 class was gone by 2010. really staggering numbers.

Wvu may score 100 on that D. They go 1-2 in a still nice year for them on their way back up

Haha no way. WVU at most scores 45

I think WVU will win by 14 but no way they score near 100

  • My gut says 1-2 but I have a feeling they're gonna beat OU. Something isn't right with the Sooners. I could also see 3-0 or 0-3.

I think Texas can slow down WVU if they play well. Lots of talent at all 3 levels of that defense. They have to tackle better though.

    jtmva

  • I just don't get the love for WVU. Geno Smith is a stud, but as a whole that team is ridiculously overrated, plus we match up very well with them. WVU's defense is about on par with Ole Miss' and we just put up almost 700 yards on them at their place. I just don't see how they'll be able to keep us for running the ball for 300-400 yards, which in turn will keep that offense on the sideline. Our defense has somewhat surprisingly had it's share of struggles but given the talent we have on that side of the ball, they're much more equipped to come up with a few timely stops, than WVU's is. Turnovers will likely play a big part in this game, but given the fact that through 3 games our only turn over came on a bad snap, I'm not overly concerned about that aspect.

I could be way off, but I'm much more concerned about OU the following week than WVU.
