    I do think wvu is getting overrated. I honk you guys will put some numbers up on them. But I just don't think Texas is back enough yet to hang with that wvu offense. 48-31 ish IMO

    Fair enough. You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I just think the likelihood that our defense will be able to handle their offense, is far greater than the likelihood that their defense will be able to handle our offense. Jmo anyway.

    Next week we should learn a lot more about just how "good" Texas is or isn't.

    I wouldn't be happy for sure.But it's on the coordinators.They are the ones that do the coaching.Mack just oversees them and takes care of the overall scheme.Mack recruits well and loves Texas and what we stand for.He will leave when Its time.Not worried about a Bowden or Paterno situation with Mack.He wouldn't. do anything to hurt the university or it's reputation. I think we go 2-1.with ou having some holes with all the injuries etc I feel pretty good about that game.If the D can stop giving up the stupid plays we beat WV also and go 3-0.Just don't see WV getting to many snaps on O.There D can't stop our running game.

    fair enough, I think WVU wins as well but I think it will be a bit of a shootout with WVU pulling ahead in the 4th and just winning by about 14

WVU's defense is about on par with Ole Miss' and we just put up almost 700 yards on them at their place. I just don't see how they'll be able to keep us for running the ball for 300-400 yards, which in turn will keep that offense on the sideline. Our defense has somewhat surprisingly had it's share of struggles but given the talent we have on that side of the ball, they're much more equipped to come up with a few timely stops, than WVU's is. Turnovers will likely play a big part in this game, but given the fact that through 3 games our only turn over came on a bad snap, I'm not overly concerned about that aspect.

    I could be way off, but I'm much more concerned about OU the following week than WVU.

    Texas is getting back up there, WVU and TCU come into the conference playing really good ball, OSU is good not great but still has a potent offense, KSU is looking really good and will be tough for anyone, Texas Tech has a potent offense and will score on everyone, Baylor looks to be good not great and are scoring points yet again, OU has question marks but is good and will be tough to beat for anyone (I think we will get a lot better as the season progresses, if we get to 6-0 I would be willing to talk about them being a really good team), hell Iowa State has looked like they will be a dogfight for most teams they...only KU is about as guaranteed a win in this conference as you will get

    my point is hell I'd be worried about any of them, I know I am

  • People in this thread are severely uninformed on UT's defense, or are basing too much of their opinion on last week's gm.

    That Ole Miss gm was a beat down, I wouldn't look too much into those 31 pts that they scored.

    if i wasn't a texas fan, i'd have serious doubts about the longhorn defense as well. it's already been said, but if we don't shore up the tackling issue and big plays, we're going to get rolled by teams that can actually score.

    Wvu may score 100 on that D. They go 1-2 in a still nice year for them on their way back up

    They will score less than 31. That would be more than enough to beat Bama, but that is a different story.

    have to agree , OU is a better team in my opinion and tons of history there

    Well you also have to keep in mind WV's defense is terrible. They gave up 34 to Marshall. The WV game will be a toss up where however scores last will win.

    I personally think Texas will go 2-1 during that stretch.

    Wow. Starters giving up 14 points to Marshall and 3 points to James Madison is "Terrible" now.

    This isn't a "terrible" defense. Its a defense in a new system(3-4) that will get better each week.

    Sorry that Marshall scored 17 points against our 3rd string defense full of true freshman and redshirt freshman. They have a player named Travon Van. He was committed to Florida before not making the grades. Cato, their QB, was also heavily recruited, and Dobson will be in the NFL and is their best WR since Randy Moss.

    Now, I'm not talking up Marshall. They suck, and WVU dominated them from the starting kickoff on BOTH sides of the ball.
