No, neither defense is good enough.

I know defense is likely to be an issue and how they incorporate their offense. Mizzou has a fast paced offense, curious how it plays out this year. I believe Texas A&M is going to try to play defense, STs and just develop a power running game with play action mixed in so perhaps mid year they can catch a team resting on cruise control.

yeah not likely, just remembering Mizzou and A&M playing spoiler in the Big 12 a few times and for me it will be interesting to watch them a little this year to see if they make any upsets

I don't see it personally, at least not this year. If Sumlin can get that offense to do something in the SEC in his first season then there's a base there that he can tell recruits, "look what we did in one year, image what that will be like in four" TAMU has had good offenses the last couple of years, it's just their defense has just let them down in critical moments. That's what needs to be fixed to be able to really compete in the SEC.

Mizzou has a similar problem. They've has some decent defensive players and they've put a few into the league, but as a collective unit they haven't quite made that leap yet.

2002 they were 6-6 but upset #1 oklahoma (sumlin was their oc that year too). other than that win a decade ago, they have a couple of wins over crappy texas teams that won 10 games in 06/07 and a 2010 nebraska team ranked #9 at the time, but finished w/ 4 losses and ranked #20.

go look at how many losses they have to ranked teams in those same 10 years. that's what they do - lose to good teams.

A&M and Mizzou will get their chance this year to see where they stack up

They should paste Ole Miss, probably beat MissSt, have a reasonable shot at beating Aub. If Arky doesn't transition well, good shot there, as well. I think Arky can be really good this year, but they could also fall apart after all that's happened. Don't know how they match up w/ Mizzou. If they beat Bama or LSU, I will be shocked. I would be shocked if it's a game with 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. You never know with LSU, though. Sometimes I wonder if Les just wants to see if his defense can score more than the opponents offense.

What does this thread have to do with you? Also, I think we'll play LSU really tough at home, not sure we'll win but Kyle Field will be rocking for that game.

I don't doubt that we'll be able to run the ball, obviously Bama and LSU will hold us below our average. We will struggle to throw the ball on those two defenses, we're a very good running team.

Brandon Williams can't play next year, he has to sit out so you have 2 next year that will be in the mix
