no prob...wish nothing but the best for the kid...coaches praised him the entire time he was here

Same here. biggrin I know he had to move because of his kid, it must have been tough for him to be that far away from his kid for that long.

We've waited until we were SEC because there might be some rule of course that makes it easier to get approved

This is what I thought, thanks Status.

you're appealing to the ncaa. it has zero to do w/ the conference.

Waivers and transfers also depend on the conference.

The only reason I'm confident he'll be fine is that all reports are he's healing fine and the way he came back last year after his broken leg give me confidence that he can do it again. Granted it's still an uncertainty.

i hope you're right, I worry Adrian Peterson will have some of the same issues, it's a legitimate reason of concern

for conference rules, like having to sit a second year for an in-conference transfer.

the waiver williams is seeking is for an ncaa rule, not a conference rule.

He might be alright physically, it just seems like guys always need one full year to fully come back and trust their knee.

  • The only 2 games that we have for comparison sake are the LSU Cotton Bowl game 2 years ago (team rushed for 155) and the Arkansas game from last year (Michael had 32 carries for 230 yards).

Michael is coming off of an injury and that was a different team in the Cotton Bowl (2 starting tackles were true freshmen though).

I'm confident the running game will at least be capable. If Michael weren't coming off of the ACL injury I'd say it's going to be a strength.

My concern is that our D is going to allow stuff like Arkansas did to LSU last year. LSU sucked on offense, yet they still put up 41.

    BigBadHenry

  • I don't see either team being better than 6-6

You know, everyone keeps saying that about LSU and Alabama last year, but other than when we played each other, we absolutely prison raped everyone else. On both sides of the ball.

We actually play in a real conference. Thanks for the input though.

Geez, you are so pathetic it isn't even funny.

    1) you have yet to play a single game is that conference.
    2) when playing teams from that conference over the last who the hell knows how long, you've been skull fvcked.

  • This is from an Aggy fan on a wvu board.

"Agreed.......lame video. However, there's an "Aggieness" to it that is somehow endearing. It's typical Aggie. If you visit their campus, everyone says hello when they pass you going to class. Their official website is named "Howdy". There is a sincerity, an unsophisticated aspect to the culture but in a good way. It's almost a throwback to an earlier time when people had time for each other.

I'll tell you this.......if you graduate from A&M, you have an incredible network of employment possibilites that is second to none. Aggies hire Aggies. Including it's network of campuses, it is the real flagship university of Texas and it's cultrue permeates the state much more than UT."

Longhorns, can you comment on this?

For starters, why don't you spell Aggie correctly? It's true that we have a huge network and that Ags hire Ags.

Sorry. Will try to remember that. Before about 6 months ago there was never a reason to type "Aggie" so I never really paid attention to the spelling. I just found it interesting that the guy said that A&M is the real flagship university.

  • Yes. That's very true. We are rated #2 in the country according to the wall street journal by corporate recruiters.

Half of UT Austin is composed of foreigners these days. They don't give a crap where you went to school.

I think that's cool. I like when people help their own. Kind of like a government office hiring veterans before college graduates. Kind of the same deal.

  • Our OL averages 325 pounds this year (4-5 OL are returning starters and La'elle Collins will be the "new" guy) with a 5 headed monster at RB.. Rotating 8 guys on the DL and nice DB's and an all-american Safety.

I fully expect to wear down the TAMU D by the 2nd half and shut down a QB with zero experience (Didn't you lose your guy in the first round?).

I just don't see TAMU stopping our running game or being able to run the ball on our DL.

Not talking crap or anything but our lines are seriously stacked this year.. I mean, Bama and LSU did beat everyone on their schedule last year by double digits except each other.

On paper y'all should definitely win...that's why it's an upset. I think there's a chance we pull an upset at home after a bye week, but I wouldn't say it's a good one.
