Texas A&M versus Texas, is it happening this year?

  • What bowl will snatch up this meeting to keep the rivalry going? Cotton Bowl maybe?

  • Mack Brown wouldn't touch that match up with a ten foot pole. Texas fans have been humiliated enough this year.

  • That would be awesome. Is Texas is line for the Cotton Bowl though? I figure KSU, OU, WVU all above them...feel like Texas is headed for that San Diego bowl

  • I don't see less than 2 more losses on the schedule and a 4 loss Big 12 team won't go to the Cotton Bowl. If only we had an easy schedule like little brother.

  • They're both 6-2 is why I asked.

It'd make for a better story than a lot of bowl games. Better story = More eyeballs watching it.

Isn't the Cotton Bowl for like 3rd or 4th place in the conferences?

    Sarcasm???

You guys are down right now. It has nothing to do with the rest of the league being that good. Just call a spade a spade and stop kidding yourself. OU has 2 home losses for the first time since Stoops got there and WVU is not the world beater that they looked like early on. KSU is good but if you guys and OU weren't down, you'd beat them.

Yall barely beat Kansas last week and had to bring in your 2nd team QB to do it...stop acting like you're record is the result of anything else besides not being a very good football team.

better story in this case meaning the A&M offense hangs half a hundred on the longhorns terrible defense and Mack Brown blames the LHN....

We are down and the rest of the conference are not world-beaters. But the poster's point is correct. You do have an easier schedule. Your one quality win was against Ole Miss. A game where you got beaten in every facet apart from the scoreboard.

*You're = contraction of you are.

Do you even know what strength of schedule is? Texas is ahead of you right now and the only quality team you play the rest of the season is Alabama. TCU would be the "easiest" game on the upcoming schedule for Texas but would be the second toughest game on yours.

sarcasm? you're schedule is ridiculously easy, which is why you are 6-2 and not 4-4. i called losses to ou, ksu and either okst or wvu before the season started, and so did most longhorn fans. we weren't going to beat ksu in manhattan - snider owns mack more than stoops does.

i see 2, and maybe 3, more losses on texas' schedule. i see 1, maybe 2, more losses on aggy's schedule. that doesn't say cotton bowl matchup to me. i'm thinking texas is in like the pinstripe bowl or some other worthless pos like that.

    roger huerta

  • unlikely either will have the record for the Cotton but it would be a great Bowl game.

    is there a Big12 4 vs SEC 7 matchup ?

I was under the impression that the scoreboard was the only facet of the game that you had to win, in order for it to count??? If you want to look at you're way, shouldnt we count your game last week to Kansas (who's 1-7 on the year), as a loss also?

Your wins include the Wyoming Cowboys, New Mexico Lobos, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and you squeaked out wins against the mighty Baylor Bears (56-50), and Kansas Jayhawks (21-17). Baylor hasnt won a conference game yet and Kansas is 1-7...

I guess your signature win is over Oklahoma State who has 2 wins but looking at their schedule, will probably end up being a 4-5 loss team.

    Your losses
    - 63-21 to a 2 loss OU team.....
    -48-45 to a 2 loss WVU team.

Are you really playing the " difficult schedule" card???

You dont really believe this do you???

By the end of the season we will have played 3 teams that were/are ranked in the top 5... Miss State was ranked 11th or 12th last week before losing to Bama. We play them this week ranked at #15.

    stir8ag

  • The Big 12 doesn't play a lick of defense so saying Texas has an easier schedule is just flat out dumb and not true... Sounds like propaganda from Burton.

Even if Texas made it to the Cotton Bowl there is no way in the world Dodds would accept the invite to play A&M. It's a lose/lose for Texas to play A&M.

Are you serious with this "they were ranked high at some point" bullshit? Kansas State, Oklahoma and West Virginia were all ranked in the top 5. TCU and Texas Tech were both ranked in the top 15. Oklahoma State, Baylor and Iowa State were all ranked in the top 25.

    That's 8 of 9 conference opponents. I win, brah.
