Nothing, until you cross the line into believing that your race is somehow superior to others.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of "white pride" movements in America have just been thinly-veiled (or maybe not-even-veiled) "white superiority" movements. Ethnic pride movements emerged out of a concerted desire to assert equality and relevance in a country whose race relations were defined by the aforementioned "white superiority" movements. As a result, thanks to the history of such movements, "white pride" is often seen as having an inherently racist quality to it that isn't as present in other ethnic pride movements.

It's like you don't even bother to read what I say.

Of course there are racist and supremacist wings of every ethnic pride movement. (Off the top of my head, you've got the Black Panthers and the Boxers, among others.) That shouldn't even be a question. I'm simply explaining to you why saying "I'm proud to be white" comes off differently than saying "I'm proud to be [insert minority here]."

Well, the problem with that is that the vast majority of schooling is "white history" schooling. The vast majority of television is "white entertainment tv." (seriously, remember Friends? Seinfeld? Cheers?)
The "____ history months" arose as an effort to integrate this history of other cultures into what was a predominantly Euro-centric educational curriculum. The reason people would react viscerally to a "white history month" is that it just represents a reactionary backlash to other history months, not any sort of concerted desire to promote cultural awareness, since white history isn't being left out of any textbooks.
