What sense does it make to have to make co payments just because you live 40+ miles away? Why should it change at all?

I don't know what sense. I'm sure there is something behind it. Obviously it is something you don't know why the mile maker is. Why should it change? Uh.... You've made about a thousand posts on here about how we need to save money and this country is in debt and all that. This will regain the country some money we were spending on those insurance plans.

Tell me what does vouchers have to do with this topic other than healthcare?

He's making 175K soldiers pay co-pays.... I didn't say anything about welfare or politicians benefits. Got to start somewhere. it's not like they are taking away the health care. Just about every citizen that has health care has to pay a co pay. The repubs want less spending right? This is a savings. The doctors, medicine, facilities, and staff aren't free. Either the gov't can keep this ridiculous spending up or some people are going to have to start doing stuff without the gov'ts help. This is just somewhere to start and it seems pretty simple. Welfare is a very tangled mess right now. Someone needs to figure it out but you can't simply just cut all of welfare.

  • I'm done with this topic. It is about as dumb as half of the other topics that the Left and Right put out. Pay your 20-50 dollars for a doctors visit. Use the money that gov't is already giving you while being retired. Be happy with that health care system or go pay for another one just like all the citizens have to do.

It's not starting with Obamacare (F'ing dumb too), welfare, or politician's benefits. If you wanted something to be done about the welfare or Obamacare maybe the repubs should have put up a better candidate or change your position on a few stances. The majority of America voted who they thought (whether it's true or not) and chose to put Obama back in office. Next time put up better competition in the races. If you don't agree with your politicians then email them or write them a F'ing letter. The crying about 175K retired people having to pay 20-50 dollars per visit is idiotic. There are a ton more major issues than this one.

    Retirees Forced Off TRICARE Prime
New TRICARE Prime rules will force retirees to use TRICARE Standard
According to reports, Defense officials are expected to announce soon that military retirees and their dependents living more than 40 miles from a military treatment facility or base closure site will lose access to TRICARE Prime, the military’s managed care option.

This would force as many as 171,000 retirees to shift to TRICARE Standard, their fee-for-service insurance option, which would mean an increase in out-of-pocket costs for beneficiaries who are frequent users of health services.

Although, active duty members and their families generally would not be impacted, drilling National Guard members and reservists living far from military bases could see small increases to health costs.

The new TRICARE support contracts are designed to constrict Prime service areas and reduce the DoD’s cost for providing health care to military retirees.

This is some of those needed military spending cuts we here so often about. Of course those idiots just think its a couple jets or a base closing. This affects life time veterans, who earned poverty level pay knowing everyday they'd die for their country. What a bunch of garbage.

Well if project dwellers get free stuff, stands to reason the low level paper pushers who actually made some contribution to this country should too. Or is free stuff only reserved for typical Obama voters?

We can't get more voters. We aren't willing to buy them, and we don't have billions of third world citizens predisposed to vote for our party that we can replace the current population with. We are at a bit of a disadvantage. We actually have to try and sway people with our beliefs.

This is an idiotic, racist, and simply flat-out wrong post.

Republicans can get more voters, if they change the party platform to something that appeals to demographics other than older white males.

You're not willing to buy voters? The conservative Restore Our Future and American Crossroads SuperPACs each spent over $100,000,000 in the 2012 election cycle in an attempt to elect Romney. Sheldon Adelson alone spent over $100,000,000 supporting conservative candidates for numerous offices. On the other hand, if you're talking about literally paying a person to vote one way or another, that's the dumbest election accusation I've heard, and I invite you to offer some sort of evidence that your unwillingness to buy voters somehow puts you at a competitive disadvantage.

You don't have billions of third-world citizens predisposed to vote for your party? News flash, there's nothing inherent about anyone in the rest of the world that predisposes them to vote Democrat. If the Republican party had better ideas, maybe they'd have more support. Seeing as their entire platform is predicated on screwing over a vast majority of the American population and the world, it's really not a mystery as to why nobody wants to vote Republican.

Spending millions on an election is not the same thing as locking in a class of voters by paying their bills every month.

And yes third world immigrants are predisposed to vote democrat since they also come form countries where they are taught that government is the end all, be all, of life. So naturally when they get here they find a party that resembles that, and is able to give them more than the poorer leftist government they left behind.

I fail to see what was racist about my post, I guess you were obliged to throw that in there since you are a liberal.

Wait, so you're saying that whoever the incumbent president is automatically has a bunch of voters bought and paid for? Really?

Also, shockingly enough, not every third-world immigrant conforms to your wildly ignorant and generalized view of foreigners. If you can cite a study or scholarly work that proves what you're saying, I'd be glad to see it.

Finally, your post is racist because it's pretty damn obvious who you're referring to when you say "third world citizens." That's about on par with euphemisms like "urban," and when you pair it with the idea of "replacing the current population," you invoke the racial boogey-man of an America where whites are no longer the majority. We all know who the fastest-growing demographic in the U.S. is, and if anyone can be said to be "replacing" the voters who die out, it certainly isn't a new wave of white people.
