Thank your son for me!
My daughter's best friend is at Ft Benning right now. He's a month back from Afghanistan and will probably be re-deployed there again. My nephew by marriage is a SEAL who did 5 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank God he's now stationed in Coronado permanently.
Looks like another perfect day.

My boss was a Green Beret for 20+ years... During the Cuban Missile Crisis.. They would get Cuban people in their camp basically as slaves and one night the guy they had stabbed my boss in the leg with a pitchfork and he had to get a blood transfusion.
Well this was back in the day and the transfusion gave him all 3 types of HIV and he's still going strong today but man he has been through more shit than anyone should ever have to go through.
He doesn't tell me much but the stories he has told me makes me feel so bad for him.
Much respect to our service men and tell your kid congrats and most important.. Thank you.

grandfather - west point grad, ww2, korea and vietnam - artillery - retired colonel, 30 yrs
father - 2 tours in vietnam - dustoff pilot - retired colonel, 30 years
mom - 1 tour in vietnam - nurse - retired lt colonel, 20 years
uncle - retired lt colonel, 20 years - just retired as the #2 or #3 guy at the va in the last couple of weeks
cousin - current army lieutenant
cousin - current af airman first class
a branch or two over on the family tree i also have an army 4* general who created the rangers and an air force colonel test pilot/astronaut (his ashes were on the spacex flight that just went up)
god bless those who serve, and those who love them.

granddad, Navy, in WW2 in pacific his ship was sunk during a battle and he swam to a neighboring ship..he wouldn't really talk about it though.
