I strongly oppose those who live together even without a certificate. As far as directly changing my life no, but i believe that it damns people to hell if they do not stray from their ways(As I said a few pages back somewhere) and I need to do everything I can to discourage this act from happening.

If y'all want to continue this thread but before I really do some emotional arguing i need to relieve myself from the thread. Good day gentlemen and GONIG(If you are still reading)

So, you think some people are born damned?

Sigh....goodnews. Still hasn't been able to provide any evidence that gay marriage will cause the collapse of society as we know it.

  • Gay Marriage: For Better or For Worse? What We’ve Learned From the Evidence.

According to Eskridge and Garver, Denmark began allowing gay civil unions in 1989. Ten years later, the heterosexual marriage rate had increased by 10.7 percent. Norway did the same in 1993, and a decade later the heterosexual marriage rate had increased by 12.7 percent. Sweden followed suite in 1995, and ten years later the heterosexual marriage rate had increased by 28.7 percent. And these marriages were actually lasting. During the same time frame, the divorce rate dropped 13.9 percent in Denmark, 6 percent in Norway, and 13.7 percent in Sweden. So, we may probably dispense with the Dobson Theorem.

In this weeks eSkeptic, in the midst of the gay marriage controversy sweeping across the nation (as individual states are changing their constitutional minds about what constitutes marriage), we present an interesting article by Barrett Brown that demolishes the silly notion proffered by some conservatives that gay marriage decreases straight marriage rates.

I realize there isn't really a legal way to prevent them from marrying, I very solemnly concede this. With that being the case I do not love America as much as I thought, and will have a very difficult time joining the military like I had planned. I do not fight for those rights.

As someone who has fought for those rights, let me tell you that that is something you need to come to grips with if you plan on joining the military. You don't swear an oath to the president or congress, you swear an oath to the constitution. That means that even if you disagree with a point of view, you may have to give your life to defend it.

It's like being a cop. I know many cops who feel that marijuana should be legalized, yet their job isn't to make laws or pass judgment on others. Their job is to enforce said laws, and let the others be judged.

If your seriously considering serving, you should really look into your own moral convictions and your own beliefs to see if you are capable of serving them, and your country.

  • I thought this was kind of a cool story. Maryland's senate recently approved a gay marriage bill. Wade Kach, a Republican, was planning to vote nay - but he found himself sitting near gay couples during a joint committee to get the bill to the House floor.

Said Kach "I saw with so many of the gay couples, they were so devoted to another. I saw so much love." "When this hearing was over, I was a changed person in regard to this issue. I felt that I understood what same sex couples were looking for."

He was one of only two Republicans to vote for the bill, and it narrowly passed. A great story, IMO. Link provided.

Maryland Republican: Meeting gay couples left me 'changed person'

A chance shake-up of Maryland House of Delegates seating assignments brought Republican Wade Kach face to face with gay couples who had come to make the case for a gay marriage law, and might have proved decisive in its final passage through the state's General Assembly on Thursday.

I think that one problem people have with homosexuality is that they don't know someone who is LGBT,really know someone like a relative or a close friend. I watched Milk the other night(great movie, highly recommended) and one of the things discussed was that issue in regards to Prop 6 back in the late 70s in California(any public school teacher who was gay or supported homosexuality could be fired and not hired). It's interesting. Edit: it was noted in the movie, that of someone knew someone who was guy they would have voted down prop 6 on a 2:1 margin.

i have been asking for that for weeks.

it makes me ignorant to ask for facts, apparently... i guess questioning god's favorite poster is terrible.

truth is, when they call you ignorant, and then attack your sources, or say some other condescending nonsense like i shouldn't get angry about the jackboots oppressing people, or they should be able to impress their views on this through whatever political means they use, they are being reactionary because their lovely status quo is being challenged.

goodnews has yet to show me even a verse that tells christians to be politically active for god or to impose their values on anyone, even thought they have been trying to do it for a couple thousand years.

in fact... all he has ever said is you're wrong, you're ignorant, or some other condescending nonsense.

yes, i would break his nose for it. sorry, that's just my way. maybe we can build a time machine and ship all the christians back to the 50's so they can live in their heyday... or they could just kill themselves so that they can go to heaven.

their hypocrisy and ignorance know no bounds... hell, they had their way, earth would still be the center of the universe, but it would be flat.

because they are the moral majority and have basically controlled the law in this country for the last 200 years?

because they fight against the rights of people based on this or that, or whatever else they disagree with, and their agenda is always based on, if we let x people to y, it will ruin erf

  • so because others feel differently than you about a subject ,any subject , and they go to the polls and vote just like everyone else for or againest that subject ..you think that they are oppressing you if the law passes againest what you want ???? or if the "other " non christians go to the polls and vote againest what you believe - is that then okay ?? or if a law passes that you like then you are not in turn oppressing others for the very same reason ??coffee help me here b/c i am not understanding where you are coming from with this : if gay marriages were legal in all states then that would be great b/c you think that gay marriage is a civil right and to hell with what other people think about the issue ? the muslim religion doesnt believe in gay marriages either , are you pissed at them as well
