If we were only so lucky to be able to watch indiana, purdue, minnesota, Northwestern, and Illinois.

And yet they are getting ratings...and pocketing loot.

Exactly. Can you imagine what the BTN ratings/revenue will be when the cycle swings and the B10 is back on top?

  • If anyone is wondering the estimated number of possible subscribers in big10 footprint

    PA 12.7 mil
    Illinois 11.8 mil
    Ohio 11.4 mil
    Michigan 9.8 mil
    Indiana 6.5 mil
    Wisconsin 5.7 mil
    Minnesota 5.4 Mil
    Iowa 3 mil
    Nebraska 1.8 mil

    = 68.1 mil / avg house size of 2.59 = 26.29mil x AVG # of people with cable or satellite 79% =

20.7 Million in big10 footprint, so I would estimate 29.3 outside of big10 footprint.

Remember all directtv and dish subscribers have big10 network whether they want it or not. Also anyone the gets the extra sports channel package gets it whether they want it or not

For most of CFB history, actually. In fact, if you take Alabama out of the SEC, what do you really have left? Everyone talks about the B12 being UT plus the little 9. The SEC is even worse. It's Alabama plus the little 13. You guys should start being nicer to big bro.

If you take Alabama out of the SEC, you still have 4 different teams that have won national championships since the BCS era started in 1998. Ohio State is the only Big 10 team to have won a national championship during that time and Michigan is the only other school who has won one during the last 40 years as an actual member of the Big 10. This obbviously doesnt count Penn State and Nebraska winning them before they joined the Big 10

CFB has been going on a bit longer than the BCS era. And if they move to a playoff in 2014, the BCS era also will be "in the past." It will have lasted all of 16 years. Of course, I don't blame you for wanting to focus on the BCS era. Before the BCS era, Tennessee was the only SEC school other than Alabama to have more than 2 titles. As I said, without Alabama the SEC would be nothing. It would be the ACC with less attractive TV markets.

  • As I pointed out earlier, Penn State and Nebraska have never won a national championship as an actual member of the Big 10. 95 % of Michigan's national championships came before there was a SEC, or before the invention of tv to watch football on, or before the start of WW2, or before the invention of a lot of other things. I am not positive, but I believe the same thing applies to Minnesotta and Illinois

I hate to bring this news flash to you, but the golden age of Big 10 football was the early part of the 20th century and that was a long time ago.Almost a hundred years ago in fact
