The Bengals have....

  • He lost a ton I know. Mike Brown is bad! My friends who are Bengal fans hate him. What's that say about the Browns though? The Bengals have a owner who fetuses to hire a GM and is a notorious tight ass yet the Bengals are relevant and having the best draft by far. Randy Lerner is more worried about Ashton Villa! It gets frustrating being a Browns fan!! Sorry!

Yeah but even if he's more worried about Ashton Villa it at least seems like he is at least willing to spend money to hire people that do care about the NFL and know what the hell they are doing. He's not doing what Mike Brown does and pretend to know about what makes a successful NFL team. They are having a great draft and maybe Brown decided to let Marvin do the picking of players and that's at least a step. I doubt Lerner cares because he assumes that Holmgren knows what he's doing. Your going to love Trent Richardson by the way.

I love the fact we had the balls to move up 1 spot to draft him! He's the franchise now! If he produces and runs hard we'll love him as much as another Browns & Bama great....Ozzie!!!

  • I will admit for the most part I do like their draft. That being said I dont know if Dre is a good fit there, he has had a troubled past. The Bengals are constantly drafting or picking up players with questionable backgrounds. These problem childs more times then not do not pan out and are more of a problem then they are worth. The Bengals are not a stable enough organization (from top to bottom) to continue rolling the dice like they do. Again I will close by saying that I really do like their overall draft.

P.S. GO STELLERS<<<<-----Very good draft also but as expected

I have to admit that I'm not sure about he John Hughes or Travis Benjamin picks. You got some good OL help for Trent but taking Hughes in the third wasn't smart and you passed on Joe Adams and Greg Childs to take Travis Benjamin in the fourth.

Yeah I get what you're saying. But we desperately needed an CB and the only other realistic option was Jenkins, who has worse track record than Kirkpatrick.

He wasn't as much trouble as a lot of people think he was at Bama. His main issue was that he liked smoking reefer (supposedly) but he was a hard worker at Bama and there are a lot of good NFL players that like pot. If he wasn't a hard worker and a ton of trouble Saban wouldn't have put up with him.

If he continues to bust his ass he has all the potential in the world. You don't see many 6'3" CB's that can run and can hit like a safety. He needs to work on his cover skills a bit but I think he has the potential to be a lock down cover.

100% with you on that! John Hughes was a bad pick! Could have got him today. We need a lot of help at WR. The OL is actually pretty good. Coming into the draft we needed help at WR, LB and RB. I was hoping for Jeffery to be honest. John Hughes??? Well Feris Bueller loved the pick!!

Yeah, his only problem was smoking. I think the Bengals can shape him into a great player. We got rid of our prima donnas, so there shouldn't be any bad influences in the locker room.

How fast is he? Some people say that he is really slow..

He ran a 4.51 at the combine so he is technically slow for a CB I guess. It's still not that bad though considering his size. They are listing him at 6'1" but I think he's at least 6'2"

Have you ever heard of Randy Lerner? There is your answer!

Lerner isnt even in the same ballpark as Brown. Ive been following the bengals for 22 of my 26 years n its only a matter of time before he f*cks this up. Having a floor next year will help but it will implode eventually. I want to get my hopes up but following this team for 22 years you know its only a matter of time.

What is going to happen with these real good drafts is going to be that by the time these incoming rookies turn into studs, or the one's of them that will, Mike Brown won't pay them and they will leave come free agency time. I think that rookie contracts are only for 3 years or so now right?

  • Sorry for taking so long for a response at work and had an emergency(FIRE) but ok now. I understand you guys needed a CB and there wasnt that much too choose from, but you have to admit that the Bengals track record speaks for itself when it comes to all of these questionable players. As for Dre I have no problem with him smoking weed unfortunatly for him and many other players the NFL does. As for the Bengals going forward it will be interesting to follow how this pans out. One good thing for the Bengals is they got rid of the drug dealer Simpson atleast in wont be as accessable for Dre now(Just Joking). I am not a Bengals fan but do live just outside of Cincy and do not have much use for Mike Brown the Bengals are his only money producing business and he runs it that way. He stated 2 years ago that he only wants his team to go 8-8 and no better and no worse. His reasoning is if they do worse fans will complain if they do better then expectations will be too high and fans would complain, but if they go 8-8 make the playoffs he is content with that because he believes the fans would be happy with just a competitive team. Not too high not too low I dont know about you guys but I and most of the Steelers fans have expectations of winning a super bowl every year and it is a let down when they dont but I would rather have an owner like Rooney that will do what it takes to be the best then a bum like Mike Brown who thrives for mediocrity.

I knew that they were shorter than they were before the new CBA just not exactly how much lower.

  • also with this new CBA you will start seeing more risk takers and movement in the 1st round for example before it would not be worth it to take a Safety in the top ten too much money now you will see it happen frequently... Also one other thing about the Bengals draft that I could not understand was if they needed a guard why they would trade down instead of taking the top guard in the draft (DeCastro) instead they got a lower rated guard from Wisconsin?????

You never know what the Bengals had the two rated on their boards.

  • I am happy Pittsburgh ended up getting the consensus top guard and lets face it talent evaluation is not Cincinnati's forte (not in the budget for Mike Brown) But you are absolutly correct they could have ranked the two differently then everyone else

Their OL coach had Zeitler rated higher than Decade. Plus, if you get the 2nd best OG and a 3rd rounder as well, I'd say thats good value
