  • Guys, first let me tell you we really appreciate the interaction and posts here on The Blue Board, but I run things a little differently around here. I have many responsibilities at 247Sports, things that require time and attention, to where I can't constantly babysit, so I rely on our veteran moderators, the guys that have been here from the start, to back me up.

    I don't question them, I rarely override them (though I have at times with some of you who have been banned) and I am certainly not interested in having the board divided into two factions that support different moderators. That's going to lead to disaster and we aren't going to have that.

    The other guys were mods first. DeltaDawg was last in the door, so he had to go. It's as simple as that. I announced it on the board so some of you would quit cyber-rioting about it and then that post turned into one of the worst threads in the history of our network. Moderators are volunteers. They are not employees of 247Sports at all, so I am not sure what the outrage was. This wasn't The Apprentice where I publicly fired the guy. Regardless some of you reacted like spoiled children on both sides. Grow up. On one end you had people pointing fingers and laughing like Def Comedy Jam and on the other you had people screaming about "business", which is a common approach when people don't get their way on message boards.

    We are all done with both sides of that in the name of customer service.

    Customer service is taking care of our guys that visit our site and giving them a pleasant experience. The average poster or reader is not interested in the drama. They are here to have fun, talk it up with you guys, maybe talk a little smack about football (which is fine), discuss off-topic issues, etc. They don't want this 12-year old girl drama on the board. We aren't going to have it. I am not going to deal with it. We will just blacklist and you will be free to read, but not post.

    This is how we are going to run this board from now on. For those that preferred DeltaDawg82 as a moderator, I am sorry, but we tried it, it didn't work and we are moving on.

    Outside of this thread, there will be no more discussion or debate on this topic. If you start a thread about it, you risk being banned from the site.

    Lets just say he didn't take it very well and decided to get on Twitter and say some things that were not appreciated.

    You can't do that. You guys are our customers for sure, but the restaurant owner isn't going to let you come in, sit down, spill your beer and pasta all over the place, yell and scream and curse you out. You'd go to jail real quick or you'd go to jail if you ever came back in there.

    So we aren't operating under the "we are human pinatas" approach here and I am not sure why any of you thought it would be that way.
