The Charlotte Bobcats could be good in two years....

  • They are an abomination right now but not for long. Next year's lineup....

PG - 24 yr old DJ Augustin and 21 yr old Kemba Walker
SG - 24 yr old Gerald Henderson
SF - 24 yr old Kris Joseph
PF - 20 yr old Anthony Davis and 20 yr old Bismack Biyombo
    C --- 24 yr old BJ Mullen

Just saying if they have that starting lineup next year, they'll be much improved and then they land maybe Kentavious Calwell-Pope in the next draft. They'd be pretty freakin legit in 2013-2014

  • 3rd yr, 23 yr old Kemba Walker ----------- 18, 7.5asts, 2stls
    1st yr, 21 yr old Kentavius Caldwell-Pope - 16, 4, 2, 2
    2nd yr, 25 yr old Kris Joseph ------------- 14, 6, 3, 2
    2nd yr, ~22 yr old Anthony Davis --------- 18, 10, 3.5blks, 2stls
    5th year, 25 yr old BJ Mullins ------------- 15, 9, 2blks

    With a immediate bench of:
6th yr, 26 yr old DJ Augustin
    3rd yr, 22 yr old BIsmack Biyombo ------- 8, 8, 2.5blks

  • BJ and Davis would form the ugliest front court known to man.

  • They could be decent if Jordan stops running the franchise.

should have never gotten rid of gerald wallace

I disagree. Jordan is intentionally tanking to get an elite player to build around. By trading Wallace, he was able to pick up a couple first round draft picks and set himself up to tank properly.

Didn't have to trade Wallace to do that. Jordan could have just continued to evaluate players on his own and they would have had a great chance at tanking.

  • Biyombo has some upside. He is a Ben Wallace clone. He'd be a perfect 3rd post man on a team. Just boards and blocks.

What's the point? Given his age and playing style, I think he's going to decline soon. Might as well trade him away while he has good value. By the time they get good (if ever), he won't be a big contributor.

  • Having the worst record doesn't always get you the #1 pick.

History has showed that kore times than not, another team wins the lottery.. Your odds are better though.

That team will stink. Zero scoring. Kemba walker is not starting point guard material. Augustin is average at best. You really have faith that all these players will reach their highest ceiling. Usually doesnt work that way. Looks like a collection of role players to me

    Gives you a 25% chance.

Of course, you don't necessarily need the #1 overall. Think about the OKC Thunder. They decided to blow up and rebuild, so they traded their veterans and kept salary low. Doing so, they had four top 5 picks in a three year span (none of them #1 overall, btw) and gained another three first round picks through the two Kurt Thomas trades.

Tanking works when you're smart about it. The Thunder are now the top team in the west and probably will be for several more years.

New Orleans is doing this now.

New owner soon, got the lease to stay in NO until at keast 2024 and renovations on building/practice facilities.

Young Eric Gordon, Ariza and some good trade pieces in Kaman, oakafor and 2 first round picks, one from Minny.

Future look bright for once down here.. Gordon is a beast when healthy.. And a lottery pick and another top 10 pick with some trades, could be decent I'm a few years.

I could be wrong but I think that one of the times Charlotte had the 2nd pick they had the worst record. Shaq went before they drafted Alonzo Morning and D Howard before the last time.

They're still missing that star to build around, but NO will definitely have a lot of pieces to work with in the coming years.

The main thing for NO is to remain committed to the rebuilding project and to not do something stupid like throw an obscene amount of money at a borderline star. Hopefully the new owners (whenever you get them) will understand this.

    Btw, Spurs fan here.
