Patch 1.5 is adding new killcams. Mostly for unarmed, magic, and archery but looks like some new ones for other weapons as well.

Worried that, if true, the time required to develop and maintain an MMO might detract from ES6 or Fallout 4.

Terrible news IMO. I hate MMO's and I this will just keep them from making a new TES or Fallout.

  • BamaLives- I was told(just from a friend) that it will be available to consoles somehow.

sf2k4- I am thinking that the majority of the Bethesda team will still work on stuff like that. There is 30 new slots for this specific thing, I believe. You could be right though.

  • I love MMOs... was a big WoW player for a number of years. But the amount of time required to upkeep the game itself is mind boggling. I don't mean just updates and patches, I mean the devs were playing in game daily for numerous hours. It requires an immense amount of resources to keep the game going and going well. Bethesda would have to open a new studio just to handle the requirements of the MMO game alone.

I am thinking that the parent publisher(Not sure how large they are) could handle any additional needs such as that. I feel safe in saying that they are prepared to take on the enormous challenges that will come along with it.

Since you know MMO's. Are they something that you need to play for hours at the time every day in order to prrgress and have fun? Or is it for casual gamers as well?

Both really. The casual gamer can enjoy the slower pace and the social aspect. In order to get to the higher levels and enjoy things like raids and PVP it takes a larger time commitment. I was somewhere in between when I played WoW. Multiple characters around level 40 but never was into raids, guilds, etc.

That is probably how i will be. I do not want to commit my life to the entire game.

I played WoW off and on for like 6 years and really enjoyed it. I also know guys that have played it religiously since launch and enjoy it for totally different reasons. The social aspect is what levels the playing field IMO.

Assistance on quests, selling items via auction to other players, just having people to talk to while in game, etc. Imagine if Lydia was another character with their own gear and didn't suck in combat.

It might be available on next gen consoles. Doubt it comes out anytime soon.

If they make a MMO they very well might abandon the SP series.

That is what Bioware has done with Knights of the Old Republic.

    Damn I hate MMO's.

It's different strokes for sure. However, Bioware still managed ME3, so, it's not all bad IF they have the resources to do both. I still have faith in Blizzard to pull of Diablo 3 in good fashion.

  • By the way, I failed and hit the burnout point. Got to level 56,beat every major quest-line except DB. Went back to playing NCAA and cod. I'm waiting until summer to get back in the longer games. I never actually played Mass Effect but I hear they are good games,so I think I might start from ME1 and go trough ME3,too.

  • I just can't see Bethesda bailing on Fallout 4. Hopefully an ES MMO wouldn't mean no more ES6, but Fallout 4 is in big demand.

Quite honestly, I'd love a Fallout MMO. Too many fantasy themed MMOs for my taste.

The DLC for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas was great IMO. You'll get plenty to do soon enough. And didn't that guy on PC find that most of Tamriel had actually been rendered already in Skyrim?
