From what I can tell it's kind of like The Condemmed, just replace teenagers with convicted felons.

Long story short (and to reduce spoilers):

There are 12 districts in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian country called Panem. Every year, two children from each district (a boy and a girl) are chosen at random to compete against the other two contestants from each district in a battle royale competition (called the Hunger Games). They must kill each other, and the final contestant (or "tribute") wins food for his or her entire district for a year. The Hunger Games is televised live in reality-style format.

It's similar. Battle Royale was a great movie, too.

I will say that I agree with the OP. It could be way worse than this move, premise sounds kind of interesting

Yeah they're so addicting, too. I read the trilogy over the span of a week on my lunchbreaks, LOL.

Its like a futuristic, tamer Battle Royale....I think it should be pretty cool.

Not seeing the connection here, the only comparison I could make would be that there is a very interesting look at what actions are "ok" under desparate or life threatening circumstances. Morality is questioned in several different ways. Enders Game is straight up classic science fiction, the Hunger Games is borderline.

Saw it last night. I still haven't been able to describe my reaction. It was good,but. Idk.
