this is what happens when a man is literally done wanting to be around his wife. She has to adopt some sort of attitude like she is a strong independent-type broad, but they generally just coming off crazy and abrasive.

Pretty spot on. As much as she harped about the empty nest and being glad the kids are out of the house, guarantee you she is laying in the floor screaming and crying 4-5 hours a day because the kids are gone.
If I was Gus, Auburn's Natty would have been my last game, because when she started downplaying the win and whining about not scoring enough points, I would have hit her in the face at least 25 times with a ball bat, and now be pulling a life term in prison.
You right though those insecure woman way over compensate and just come across as obnoxious.
