Not to mention the tip outs to bussers and bar. I got roughly 70% of my tips. 20% to bus and 10% to bar. It got bad at our restaurant last spring. I'd work a 4 hour lunch shift and go home with $20 sometimes.

Our bussers were great. I worked lunch 5 days/week and was friends with my busser. Dude always got my section cleaned quick. I hated tipping bar because rarely do people order drinks at lunch where I served. But always had to tip them to keep them on my good side.
It's actually a decent way to learn work politics.

its how i get the best shifts and best tables
bartenders are also keys and head bartender also makes the schedule
i always grab his food and run it out to his customers
hostesses know who to seat me with as well
bussers, well they dont do me any good cause i prebus the hell out of my tables that really all they do is grab drinks off my table and wipe it down. i really dont need a busser
