Sneds should be back healthy in two weeks too, I believe. Wonder if the time off will hurt him as he was playing terrific.

Good point. Could be rusty coming off the injury.

  • It really is just a great time to be a golf fan if Tiger can put together 4-5 more years of winning golf.

Ratings could reach all time highs in 2014 and 2015 if Tiger were to get major 15 this year, and Rory wins...along with others.

The reason I said that was because I got to see Zach play at my home course, he set the tour scoring record there at the time but I'm not sure if it still stands. I followed him for a few holes on Friday, because I loved what he did in his golf swing and was trying to incorporate some of his positions into my swing, and watched him hit his rope hook down the middle over and over and over again. We get to 11, a par 5 that's about 600 yards (633 after the redesign, but I don't remember if he won the tournament before or after the redesign), with a fairway bunker on the left about 290 down the left and a massive tree about 280 down on the right tight to the fairway. Out of nowhere, Zach lets his hook go and he flies it by the bunker, and gets at least 30 yards of roll (draws in Texas tend to do that). I didn't think he was all that long, judging by how far he hit it when I had seen him previously. Maybe he just dials it back because it's easier to control? Maybe he caught one solid?

It is amazing to me though just how far some of those guys can hit it when they let it rip.

  • @Gerry

    agreed,

golf has never had this many personalities and strong players before. I don't care what anyone says, the tour is far more talented today, than it ever has been in the past.

It's going to be a fantastic year if tigger can keep putting well.

Watching them duke it out at all four majors would be pretty incredible to see.

There were probably more personalities and "great" players back in Nicklaus's day, but top to bottom the Tour today blows away the Tour back then.

  • I also think Charl Schwartzel will be in the mix.

That dude is as sneaky long off the tee as anyone on tour IMO.

Paddy is another cool European that I'd be OK with making the cut.

Schwartzel sucks, for personal reasons. I was set to win the Masters pool at my home course (around 1,500, which was and is big time money for a youngin' like me), if things had just stayed the same as they were when he finished and the others hadn't choked yet. I don't remember exactly who I had, but I picked two or three of the top ten, and both/all choked it up coming in. So for that, F U Charl, I hope you never make the cut at the Masters again. That'll teach you to screw with my Masters picks...

Nobody choked the year Schwartzel won it. Both Adam Scott and Jason Day played well down the stretch. Schwartzel just played phenomenal.

That was probably one of the most exciting finishes in a Masters in a long time. I was disappointed because I wanted one of my fellow Aussies to win. Scott is even from the same town I am.

Gotta go with Sneds. This is his year to win a major.

Charl Schwartzel is 16th in driving distance at 299.3 this year.

Dufner is way down the list at 276.6.

Watching Schwartzel this year, he is hitting a lower bullet draw. He's up there in driving distance with the big boys this year.

  • The changes are perfect for Lefty and Rory...just not sure Rory is where he can keep it together for 4 rounds. Tiger needs to fal lback in love with his 3 wood, he can flatten that out and shape it all he wants off the tee...and still be long enough to do what he needs. Tiger is back to doing what won him 14...putting the ball where he has a fair to good approach shot and when he gets in trouble getting to tap in range....and when he's on he's lights out. He's been missing the lights out 27-36 hole stretches and the tap-ins the last few years.
