Also let's not forget those 18 Fouls for Nebraska vs 7 for UM

Neb 3-7 from the FT line UM 17-26 from the FT line

    Love that home cooking biggrin

It cracks me up that everyone says this. Michigan is near the top of the country for fewest fouls and turnovers by the other team. Maybe Michigan doesn't get many turnovers because they rarely put themselves into positions where they could foul (or make a good play and get the steal?).

Edit: Michigan fouls the least of any team in the country, and they're 311th in steals per game. So them not getting called for fouls and having a free throw advantage isn't much of a stretch. Home or away.

Didn't mean to call out UM specifically.. that trend tends to happen in most B1G games

I agree that there is some home cooking in most B1G games, but I just felt like pointing out that Michigan's defense isn't overly aggressive which leads to them hardly fouling.

It does have upset potential. Iowa is a bit of an underrated team at home, and they will undoubtedly be motivated to redeem themselves after getting thumped by UM.

That having been said, if MSU doesn't win tonight then they crapped the bed. Still wouldn't mean too much by itself, but if they have another couple losses like it, the set of bad losses would be significant. As for winning the B1G, these are the types of games that are very difficult to overcome if you don't win them.

At least we went to the BCS in 2012, 2007, 2005, 2004, and 2000 . You guys go there every year, right?

Slight home underdog against a team that doesn't put up a ton of points? I smell an upset, too. Btw the line is now Iowa +1.5.

If the BCS games itself were so successful, why is it going belly up after next year?

Iowa played well against IU as well, think they only lost by 4..

Can't take them lightly.. back in 2010 they smoked MSU by like 20 at home

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I am glad Michigan didn't pursue him once Gedeon and McCray committed.

Exactly. I'm surprised they aren't questioning Alabama's offense in the BCSCG because Lacy and McCarron were responsible for so many of their points. I guess this is what Sparty fans have been reduced to after watching how mediocre their own football and basketball teams have become. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Everytime I come on here, you've just become more angry and more angry. Michigan is like 19-0 in Bball now, and they played a real swell bowl game against a mid level SEC team and almost won and they have the number one recruiting class in football coming and probably the best staff in football, so I don't understand the anger here. You've got it made. You have the conference sewed up in basketball, you have the number one football team coming back, you have the best staff in both major college sports, Michigan has beautiful women, and I think you're number one in academics and job opportunities in the western hemisphere. Yet, here you are, angry angry angry. It's the weed I'm telling you. Gateway drug. Stop it. It's killing you.

someone was charting it on the RCMB last year. It was amazing. Everyone is human, it's probably hard not to hear the crowd. I could never ref. And if I did and MSU was playing I don't care how hard I'd try I know I'd miss a holding call on MSU now and then. It wouldn't be overt cheating, but I'd miss a couple "close" calls.

Do they let you ref your alma matter?

We did what we had to do to be selected. It's not our fault that your team did not play well enough to be selected.

We were automatically selected to the BCS in 2004, 2005, and 2007 I believe because Ohio went to the NC game and the rules sent us to the Rose. The other two years we were where we needed to be in the top 14.

I don't understand. I thought being an automatic selection was good and an at-large selection was bad. You and Cope need to get together and decide.

Being an automatic selection means you earned it. Being an at-large selection means you earned a top 14 ranking (or 16 in some scenarios) and can sell out a stadium.

Regardless, MSU did neither of these things the past two years.

3 years ago is another story, but not one I care to rehash.
