Kirk Cousins won the game for Washington today.

I think it's a perfect position for Cork Coupons. Relief picture. I don't know that he's a starter ever in the league, but in spot relief, I think he'll do well. Though, like Skiles in Bball the guy constantly surprises me.

Slim chance he goes to MSU. He never really wanted to go there.

    i mean, who would?

Exactly. Nobody would ever want to come to MSU. Dantonio must be like Jafar from Aladdin.

I mean, it's really just an injustice that the NCAA only allows the great university of michigan to have 85 scholarships. Really, they should have unlimited spots, except then who would go anywhere else? Nobody would. Everything revolves around michigan, I really don't know why MSU hasn't been shut down by now.

  • scared I just looked at ESPN and Binghamton is 2-8 with only 1 win over a division 1 school. They also lost to Monmouth who lost 108-56 to Syracuse.

  • OT: My girlfriend has asked that I try to get to know her dad because they're very close since her mother's passing a few years ago. She asked that I take him out to do something since he doesn't get out of the house very much. The problem is that he doesn't hunt, he doesn't fish, he doesn't watch sports, he doesn't like movie theaters, and he doesn't drink. What can I possibly do with this man? Help me.

Nice! Jealous of all those that can own a dog. Of course I could own one here but with the space I have I'd have to get a small dog and that just isn't going to happen.

What does he do all day? Just work and watch the History Channel?

Edit: Does he like cars? If so, I'd definitely suggest taking him to the auto show in Detroit.

If you've never been, they have all kinds of cars there, mostly new/future models, including Bentley, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, etc.

If you think he might be into an auto show, but old cars instead of new, I'd be happy to ask a friend of mine about some good ones in Michigan and where to find more info.

My father in law was like that. He was much older than me (by almost 50 years), he was a devout Catholic, and he was a kook. The best thing I could do was just sit and listen to him talk, and ask some questions about the war. We had nothing else in common but when I asked about the war, he could go on and on.

Find something HE likes and engage him in conversation about that.

Ding ding ding. Especially with guys that are living alone, they love to relive memories with you. Find out from your gf what type of kid he was in HS/college, and then ask him some questions over lunch about those times.

  • NC Game thoughts . . . I just don't see ND scoring on Bama. I expect it to be a low-scoring affair regardless and the Irish have a great D . . . . but Bama's offense is pretty darn good. On the other hand, ND's offense is just o.k.; there's no Michael Floyd, and a spread-running game against that Front-7? Yikes.

I'm thinking something like 24-9 Bama.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

The Irish have managed to yank a few games out of the fire despite their lack of big playmakers. Sometimes, things just go right for a team.

This game gives me a vibe of having to choose between a rectal exam or food poisoning.

Yea, just thinking that those games were also against some opponents who weren't as good as Bama (Pitt springs to mind, and Stanford, since ND played them before Hogan took over at QB). Only team to beat ND has a Heisman winner at QB; Golson is o.k., but not THAT good. Bama has some (relative) weakness at CB, but I don't see Robby Toma/John Goodman being the caliber of WR to take advantage of that. Best bet is to work the middle of the field with Eifert, but Robert Lester is a pretty sick player at S.

ND's OL is very good though, so who knows? On paper it looks like a 65-70% chance of a Bama W.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

This is almost identical to my situation. He's in his late 60's (I'm 24), he's at church every sunday, and he's a Vietnam veteran. I think I'll probably give this a try and see what happens.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'm into most of the traditional guy-type stuff so I've never met a girl's dad who I didn't have at least something in common with.

Yep, and pick a place that has tv's in it. Every now and then glance over at a game and just keep nodding as he talks.
