IIRC they were all the same price this year. Maybe UMass was cheaper, but I think all the B10 games and AF were the same ... $75 for my seats.

Speaking of football. Why is it that UM has only been able to win 1 co-championship in 60 some odd years of football? Regional power? I think that seems fitting. UM is one of the best football teams with states that border the Great Lakes.

I don't know, but in other big time programs he would be toast.
Not trying to start an SEC vs. B10 fight again, but is the fact that Fernetz is still comfortably employed at Iowa a sign that the B10 is behind? Especially after Auburn just ousted Chizik?
Looks to me like Iowa is only heading further down and it's a shame because that school just a few years ago was known for the strong defensive line. They were pretty match the yen to wisconsins yang in the big ten.

I disagree; in other big time programs he wouldn't ever have the buyout that he does.
IIRC, Ferentz's buyout is so large that it would be fiscally crippling for Iowa to pursue it. They're better off crossing their fingers and sitting with Ferentz for a couple more years than paying that absurdly high amount it would cost to have him gone.
I have to agree with what has been said before that you can't have it both ways. You say the B1G needs to spend more money to attract better coaches. Iowa does exactly that, spending HOARDS of cash to bring in Ferentz. Problem is, they had to promise him so much money to bring him in and/or sign him to an extension that they are near broke if they have to fire him.
I agree that the B1G needs to make some significant moves to catch back up to the SEC, I just disagree that this is an example of that.

Yes The SEC model is so much better. Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt... They've all gone through a number of coaches an look at their overwhelming success. Hell, AU won a national title 2 years ago and just fired their coach.
SMH. Steve, Bama an LSU went through a LOT of coaches before they landed on Saban and Miles. Bama's HC's office had a revolving door.
It's easy to look at Saban and say "Bama knows what they're doing". Well no kidding. It took a lot of years and other coaches to finally get to him.

"So unless Iowa wants to pay the equivalent of a $3 million annual penalty for firing Ferentz for the rest of the decade (and this is a pretty young decade), Ferentz is there to stay in Iowa City."
