  • End of story and a hypocritical policy that can bite you in the rear in the lockerroom if you're not careful.

While you all know where I stand on that I assume our two head coaches don't do things willy nilly and have a set plan. Thing is when one thing happens, the computer jockeys try to tell us their policy then retract it and say something else like they knew that was it all along.

It absolutely sickens me. 27 dead, 18 children. And the shooter is dead. The fvcking coward. I can't imagine much worse of a situation as a parent.

Yeah, horrible. A guy got shot in the head pretty damn close to my office the other week. Did it right out in a HEAVILY trafficed area.

For reference it would be like shooting someone in the head at 1PM by the Diag or for my fellow Spartans like shooting someone in the head at point blank range right on grand River.

Gun man is still at large, unbelievable.

I saw a 16 year old get shot in the head a few years back by another teenager. That shit scarred me for life.

This shooting is just horrible today, no words for it. I have a co-worker that is from the town right next to it and is obviously shaken up.

    Sickening.

With out getting too political for the most part think of kids in war torn countries, kids in the tropics with all sorts of disease/plights, poverty, droughts, poor medical systems, lack of medicine and infrastructure. They are surrounded by horrors constantly.

  • Here's the article on the guy that got shot right by my office

"NEW YORK — The shooter of a Los Angeles man in broad daylight on a New York City street was so cool and precise he left no doubt he’s killed before, possibly as a professional hit man, police say.

A security video that hasn’t been made public shows the gunman walking up behind Brandon Lincoln Woodard on Monday and pressing the barrel of a pistol to the back of his head without saying a word. The gunman later slips into a getaway car as the driver pulls off.

The car was found unoccupied and parked Wednesday in Queens.

Police say they’ve interviewed a woman who spent time with Woodard the evening before he was shot a block from Central Park.

No motive or suspect has been identified in the killing."

I am not too much of a man to admit that I have cried several times today over this. 20 children are dead, 26 total. Only 1 injury. This monster had to execute these children to be this efficient.

I have 2 children in kindergarten and 1 in 1st grade. I can not imagine the terror these children went through, wanting nothing more than for their mom or dad to save them. My son thinks I am a hero, that there is nothing I can't do. He would sit there waiting for me to walk in and stop it. These children were doing the same.

I am sorry, but I can't fathom this. We are called to protect children, to take care of the orphans and widows, and this monster kills them. I just don't get it.

Cried a bunch today. Like a baby when I hugged my kids tonight. I've run the emotions from sorrow to disgust to rage. Both my kids seem more disgusted and angry then scared. Just a shitty day

The page of the thread is the last 3 numbers in the URL. For example, the URL right now is

So just change the "204" to whatever number.

5'7". I don't understand this move, he played CB in highschool pretty well. I can only imagine he is there for depth at Nickel Corner. Where speed and quickness is more important than height. But 5'7" is very small for defense. Regardless the position.

Wow that's short. Is he still going to play RB? He's an exciting kick returner, he would be electrifying with the ball in his hands at RB.

Got it, you don't believe sourced articles. You believe that the media conspires together to make up stories about a team getting passed on for a bowl game.

How do you know this? Because another bowl passed on that very same team. OMG!

Nebraska wasn't an attractive option, it was widely talked about. And I did give you a perfectly good explanation above; it wasn't that Northwestern was particularly attractive, it's that Nebraska was unattractive. They had gone there the year before. They just got blown out and fan support was low after a fairly disappointing season. It's not as absurd as you are trying to make it out to be.

These writers that you claim are making things up, do you have evidence that they have in the past? Why would a completely unrelated writer also make up the very same story? Is there a single shred of evidence, other than the thoughts in your brain, that Northwestern wasn't the first option of the Capital One bowl committee?

    Per Brian Bennett at ESPN:

On Thursday, we linked to a story from the Orlando Sentinel's Mike Bianchi that said the Capital One Bowl wanted to take Northwestern and Texas A&M but bowed to pressure from the Big Ten and SEC to select conference runners-up Nebraska and Georgia instead.

Capital One Bowl executive director Steve Hogan disputed that story on Friday, saying that the Big Ten had "zero input" into the game's selection process.

"I can't be any more clear about that," Hogan told ESPN.com. "There was no mandate from either conference. It's our contractual decision, and our committee had the sole ability and authority to pick what teams we want."

There were several media reports leading up to bowl selection evening that Northwestern was the pick for the Capital One Bowl. Hogan said he doesn't know where those reports came from. The Wildcats seemed to have more momentum, as Nebraska was coming off an embarrassing loss to Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game and played in the same game last year. But Hogan said his bowl typically selects higher-ranked teams who have won the head-to-head meetings and have better conference records when picking between two schools. The Huskers held all those advantages over Northwestern.

Hogan said the Capital One Committee had "lots of wide-ranging discussions" about which team to take but ultimately selected Nebraska after a vote from about 150 members.
