Michigan fans will be lulzing at how badly we beat you guys both times.

Michigan State was a 1 seed last year. They got wiped in the Sweet 16, lulz.

Michigan is just getting their feet wet in March, we will go further than you this year.

roflmao I thought there was a chance you were being serious earlier. Clearly it's just a troll.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Meh, I'm not sure. I think Manny's teams weren't far behind MSU...

I still think that this year's team has a higher ceiling than any of Beilein's previous teams. I think it's too early to say this years team will be the best he's had (mainly because Michigan hasn't played anyone who's actually any good), but with Burke back and improved, Hardaway playing better than he did at any point last year, and the freshman proving to be fairly consistent (although occasional "WTF was that" type turnovers and defensive breakdowns do happen) I think it's tough not to start thinking that this Michigan team could be better than any that people have seen in quite a while.

The jump in talent is clear. They are playing nobody teams, agreed, but the are running these teams off the court. In previous years, those teams hung around.

When was the last time UM got a 1 seed?

UM only has 3 Sweet Sixteens since the NCAA started inviting 64 teams, and only has 2 Final Fours EVER. LULZ!!!

Well that settles it. You officially don't know your ass from a hole on the ground.

Amaker took Harvard to the big dance for the first time in 65 years and finished with the exact same results as Beilein in the tournament.

If it wasn't for the cheating scandal at Harvard I would have him back in the tournament again this year.

He also was the one that started pulling in good recruits at Michigan and got the program up trending. He deserves some credit for rebuilding Michigan. Also, I don't think he really plateaud at Michigan. He had a good recruiting class coming in when he was let go. If you can't see that you are the one with the issues not me.

Jordan Morgan's been a big surprise so far this year. He's already made about a half dozen plays this year that he wouldn't even have been able to try this year. McGary needs to get in better shape though.

    No. Plain and simply, no.

I realize that you get on points and you plow ahead with them regardless of what others tell you, but you look dumb on this one. This is like a msu fan pumping up JLS.

Does Harvard play in arguably the toughest conference in the country?

Does he have to face Indiana, mSu, OSU, Illinois, and Wisconsin twice a year?

Seriously Steve, you're being completely ignorant.

I believe Morgan lost some weight over the offseason, and he is playing like it. McGary will have a chance to get into better shape as the season goes. I really like the rotation that Morgan, Horford, and McGary gives Michigan. We haven't seen this in a long time at Michigan.

Whatever Michigan was on probation for the first 5 years he was at Michigan.

You look at the job he's done at Harvard it's pretty impressive.

The best thing about having Morgan, Horford, and McGary is that when MIchigan plays teams with big men who can score, Michigan won't have to worry about foul trouble. Especially since most of their scoring is going to come from Burke, Hardaway, GRIII and Stauskas.

With Izzo in his final few years, Amaker is a guy MSU might want to start schmoozing. I can see him in EL.

Agreed again. Last year was a nice run, but I went into every game fearing Morgan getting into foul trouble. If that happened, Smotz and McLimans had to play the big man. It is nice knowing that if we see McLimans, it is garbage time now.

If I didn't know better, I'd think Steve was Amaker's agent. But seriously, if the EL crowd is so enamored with him and the great job he did in AA and is doing in Cambridge, they should want to jump on him before someone else snaps him up. It's clear Izzo doesn't have it anymore. He barely made the NCAA in 2010-11 and went down in game one. He followed that up by taking a #1 seed into the tourney and turning it into an early exit last year. And he just laid an egg against a subpar UConn team in an overhyped game in Germany to start this season. It's clearly time for him to go and Tommy Amaker is the perfect replacement. Just listen to Steve rave about him.

Prior to coach Tommy Amaker's arrival at Harvard, an automatic NCAA tournament invitation once seemed about as likely as a Caltech conference victory.

FWIW, Beilein is actually older than Izzo. If Izzo's in his final few years, isn't Beilien also just about done?

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
