    You read the RCR...?

I looked up Peko's profile and the most recent article on him was a RCR from 8 hours ago. I scrolled down to Peko and it stated MSU was his leader

Asked the same question not more than 5 min. ago on our board. They're off MSU's schedule for the next 2 seasons, so I kind of don't care*.

*- this is what conference expansion does. I don't really care about the Legends teams that aren't MSU's opponents, except maybe tOSU because they're the likely CCG rep for the foreseeable future. End anti-expansion rant.

That is why I like MrWoodsons 4-team pod format if the B1G goes to 16 teams. One off, three on with all teams.

Edit: with all teams not in your pod. You play the teams in your pod every year.

Ah gotcha. Yeah they're usually accurate, seems like they didn't even interview him lately, and just took his month old quotes lol

  • Merry Christmas, from a friend of mine who is a U of M grad. He's funny as hell and each year I get great cards from him. One year he was out for the Rosebowl, and walked by a group of people protesting meat eaters they were PETA i think, so he bought a bunch of steaks at a store, some Milk, and held them up in front of the PETA group with a "Merry Christmas" to all of us.

    Anyway, this years card.

I think he stays at Wisconsin, what did you think?

I thought he was the mystery visitor. I stated that the very day that Webb said there would be one, b/c I did not think it would be Powell or Reschke, so I figured I would provide a likely alternative to satisfy the masses.

I looked at the clues, realized it was probably Ball, or maybe another Wisconsin player, and said as much here and on your board. It didn't hold, but that's no problem.

Anyway, like Braintrust, I'm also hoping he goes to UM so that somewhat of a domino effect occurs. We are in on Alec James (most likely since he chose Wisconsin over MSU and has said that he feels MSU has been the most honest with him throughout the process while Wisconsin lied to him) and Matt Miller, and we'll definitely be going after 2014 DT Craig Evans.

    Good job.

Evans maybe the biggest prize out of the kids that are already committed.

He could be, he's a very solid DT.

IMO, James and Obasih might be up there too. Both are very good DE's.

I would love to get George Panos out of their 2014 class as well.

I don't know what will create more activity: a commitment to MSU or the meltdown if it doesn't happen.

  • Went to the Barclay Center yesterday for a Nets game...

Pretty nice looking arena from the outside. Sort of reminds me of a Gheary building but with tons of hi def screens and lights all over it. Very good site lines, and you feel pretty close to the game because of the angle seating sections.

The interior is also loaded with screens and anyone that ever rips MSU for advertising on their new stadium boards is out of touch with reality. They were constantly flashing McDonalds, Starbucks and Barclays advertisements the entire game.

Also, I hadn't gone to an NBA game in years but is it normal to play music during the game?

The entire game they played hip hop during the action and it was really bad stuff.

BOOM CRASH BOOM CRASH BOOM BOOM CRASH BOOM with some MC in a call to arms style chant going BROO KLUN BROO BROO KLUN.

The repetition of it was maddening to me, I needed a frigging Tylenol by the end of the 1st half.

If you are ADD, have a yen for loud rap music and a t-shirt cannon that can reach the top of the stadium I think you'll have a great time.

The Knicks still have the best team, tradition and arena IMO.

Oh, don't play coy. You know the meltdown would be 2-3 times the activity of a commitment. Might as well prep some popcorn for that.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

He has to be a Sparty lock. If Beilein can outrecruit Coach K for a kid, then it has to be in the bag for Izzo.

It only takes one player to defect after a coaching change for a wave uncertainty to wash over the rest of the committed players. I think the teams trying to flip players actually have a big advantage in that there is so little time left for a decision to be made and for visits to be had. If this all went down earlier in the year then the coach would have plenty of time to build a relationship with the committed players. However, under the current circumstances, opposing coaches may have a stronger relationship with the players considering how much longer they've been recruiting them. Additionally, they can easily use one of their official visits so that there is no financial burden looking around. Wisconsin is a in a very interesting predicament.

I think MSU stands the most to gain from the coaching change at Wisconsin. It seems like you guys battled for a lot of the same recruits in this cycle.

Yeah, I think their 2014 class was the highest ranked in the B1G thus far.

    I agree with this.

I think several B1G teams will benefit, but I think MSU could get as many as 2-3 players out of Wisconsin's 2013 class alone.

It really could payoff that Dantonio has recently been stressing the Wisconsin area.

I think Minnesota should try and capitalize on this big time too, but it doesn't seem like they are yet.

No problem. Background on the guy, he's a michigan grad, his Dad was ND, and his mom was MSU, he ha a position in our State that is fairly important. His sense of humor is beyond funny.

You can use this one too. Remember the Rather hall brawl? This one was the card from that year. I love the "Peace on Earth" part of it. Sorry the top is dark, he's wearing a ski mask.

Watching this years team, we need some help. I'm telling you, as an old coach, I can take losses when a team plays with heart and a sense of urgency. You can't pick out one game this year in football or basketball that MSU has done that from start to finish. It's just frustrating as hell. Draymond Green and Cousins were bigger losses in that their talent is missed, but their leadership is missed way more. I'm bothered by wins against Bowling green etc, where the team is just mailing it in.

Yep, I won't even go to the board. By all accounts and by the SI article I read from the kid last year, he's just an outstanding human being. He said "Basketball is what I do, it's not who I am". He does a billion great things as a person, not just a basketball player. That's why any idiot on the RCMB who says one bad word about him will hit my ignore button for the rest of the time. The kid, by all accounts will weigh out what is best for him. At that point, leave him the hell alone.

BTW, I'm thinking the other schools he shuns will be just as disapointed.
