Not sure that's like saying that at all..

It can help the program to see kids go out and get drafted high early.. shows player development.. Bell going from a 2 star to being one of the first RBs off the board can only be showed as a positive..

Would MSU be better if all 3 returned? Probably.. does it mean MSU's destined for another 6-6 season? Based on the ease of the schedule and just general returning to the norm of some stats, the answer is probably not

You called it a great day for MSU. And I never made any prediction about MSU's record next season, either with or without these players, so please don't put words in my mouth.

In any event, congrats on your great day. I promise you, UM fans won't consider it a great day if/when Taylor Lewan announces he is leaving early. It will be a sad day. It will only be a great day if he announces he is coming back.

    1) I think you're overstating the significance of players getting drafted. Damn near every team in the top half of their conference gets players to the NFL

2). There's a huge difference between Bama getting 5 drafted in the first round and 7 or 8 all together vs 2-3 going mid to late.

    3) These 3 aren't going "high" in the draft.

MSU isn't a very good football program.. takes year of consistent winning to get to that level. - copemoney 1/22/13

A strong combine could push Gholston into the 3rd round. That's about the ceiling for those 3. Adams may sneak up to the 4th depending on his combine; he's a pretty good CB. Realistically though, I'd be surprised to see an MSU player drafted before round 4.

Next year I'd expect Bullough and Dennard to go fairly high.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

A lot of analysts on twitter saying gholston could go late 1st round if he has a strong combine, just on potential alone. Like dontari Poe last year, but I doubt it happens

Speaking of delusion and homerism, remember when poster Brady Hoke/msucan'tmakethebcs said UM would go 12-0 next year and could beat Bama. LOL!

I personally said we'd go 10-2. We weren't too far off and had many injuries. It was a lot closer than the 11-1s and 10-2s being thrown out for MSU this year.

Yes, MSU is screwed on offense. I think we all conceded that. Would you care to remind us how long it's been since MSU's last Rose Bowl?

23 years. Ever since Gholston tried to take denard out bad things have happened to MSU. The Curse of Tom Gholston. lol

The same number as Rose Bowls you've been in since the 1980s.

While there's nothing "statistical" that says MSU's O will improve.. this year seems a lot like 2008.. and then in 2009, MSU had a pretty good O..

    Let's take a look.. 2008 v 2012

    2008-Hoyer- 180/353, 2400 yards, 51%, 9/9 TD/INT ratio.. note Cousins had 300 passing yards as well with 2/1 TD/INT ration
    2012- Maxwell- 234/446, 2600 yards, 53%, 13/9 TD/INT ration

    2008- Ringer- 390 att, 1600 yards, 22 TDs
    2012- Bell- 382 att, 1800 yards, 12 TDs

    2008 top 4 WRs-
    Dell- 36 rec/679 yards/3 TDs
    White- 43/659/1
    BJ- 41/528/0
    Gantt- 19/302/4

    2012 top WRs
    Fowler- 41/524/4
    Mumphrey- 42/515/1
    Sims- 36/475/2
    Lippett- 36/392/2
    Burbridge- 29/364/2

Then in 2009.. MSU had 410 yards of offense and averaged 30 ppg..

Just trying to stay optimistic rockon

Try again. It'll be 26 years after this season; MSU won the Big 10 in 1990, but it was a 4-way tie and they ended up in the John Handcock bowl. The 88 rose bowl (1987 season) was the last time MSU was in Pasedena.

If you're going to make fun of us, at least get the facts right.

I don't know about him...seems like the perfect storm for an extremely hyped recruit to not live up to expectations. I guess if we have room might as well try. I'd rather see him come to Michigan and have the coaches put him in the right direction than go anywhere in the SEC.

Oh, sounds like BOB is gone from PSU. They're about to take a big nose dive.

Me too. We'll see if it actually happens. If he goes, that program is going to fall apart; I bet several of their current 4-star recruits leave and they'll be unable to attract more.

Please don't quote that idiot. But the week after gholston made a perfect form tackle on denard we beat Wisconsin on a hail Mary, won the division and beat Georgia.

    Some curse.

I'm most taken back that they are quoting dantonio as being surprised by Bell leaving. WTF? we all knew those three were going in November. I don't get that.

Nobody quoted Dantonio. Bell's mom interpreted his reaction as being 'taken aback a little bit'.

A friend of mine was on the 8th grade basketball team with me, and he was a terrible ball hog. He wasn't particularly bad, but every single time he touched the ball he exhausted every single feasible shooting scenario before passing it.

After one of our games, my friend's mom was waiting for him to finish changing in the lockerroom, and I was walking out I heard some of their conversation. My coach was telling her how my friend wouldn't let go of the ball. He said something like, "once he gets it, man, he's not letting anyone take that thing away." Obviously, the coach was commenting about my friend being a ball hog. To this day, his mom will reminisce about how impressed our coach was by my friend because he wouldn't let the other team steal it.

What's the point? Mom's will believe whatever the hell they want to believe. They're bat shit crazy.
