  • HS friends dad will be at his 400th Spartan game tomorrow. 380 at home Mark Hollis is putting him in the AD suite. He's going to wear his 1942 beanie cap all freshman had to wear back them. Very cool of Hollis to set him up.

ALOT of rumors of Maryland to the B10 in 2014 going around. where there's smoke...

I wouldn’t mind it but I doubt it’s going to happen although Maryland and FSU were the only school’s to vote against increasing the exit fees. Them and VT would be nice additions to the conference IMO.

Maryland’s BB program is meh, at the moment but it has a lot of potential. Their problem much like Illinois is keeping top surrounding talent. The majority of top rated kids in the DMV either go to GTown or leave. Their FB program suck’s at the moment but with a decent coach it has potential. The DMV produces a lot of FB talent as well.

The football program has to actually be good otherwise we're like a big Big East with a lot of tv markets and a lot of crappy teams.

That's awesome. Congrats. I picked up my son in A2 on Thursday morning and we hit deer camp for the afternoon hunt. Didn't see anything, sadly.

    Great lookin deer.

I can't imagine how hilarious this thread will be if UM loses to tOSU and their bowl and MSU wins out giving both teams the same record in '12.

    Great lookin deer.

I used to hunt almost everyday. Now it is whenever I can get out, with all the kids at home. Went out for the first time this morning and saw 3 does. Went out tonight with my 6 year old. Scared 6 does on the way to the blind with him talking to me. Sat there for about 30 minutes when the buck walked into the woods. Awesome experience dropping him with my son sitting there. He thinks I am hero. lol

The side you can see is 5 points. I thought I had a 10 point until I got back with the gator and saw that the other side had 2 broken tines. Still happy with it of course and I will post a better pic tomorrow when I take it down.

Very cool that you got to that with your boy. That's time well spent and it's something you'll do forever. I got to spend a couple days with my son for the opener Thursday and Friday. I love that time together.

    Where do you hunt?

    Where do you hunt?

I live on 100 acres in southern Ingham County. About 30 acres of it is crop (corn this year, soybean next), with another 30 acres open field/grazing field for cattle and the rest woods. The house is 1/4 mile off the road right next woods. I walk out my door and can be in one of several treestands/blinds in minutes. Grew up here and I am buying the house/land from my parents.

    I am a blessed man.

    Edit: Where do you hunt?

  • Gardner is already one of the best QB's in the B1G.

I hunt on a friend's 10 acres in Ortonville, and another buddy's 80acres in Ravenna (about 15 miles east of Muskegon).

    You're a lucky guy. I'm jealous. I would love to own 100 acres. N

His sample size is so small, but he has looked good.

Going into next year, Martinez and Miller will be ahead of him, but Gardner looks to be the better passer of the group.

I had to look up Ortonville. Is that one close to the house?

I am lucky, if we weren't buying this land, which I have hunted for 20 years, then my Brother-In-Law owns 20 acres, and the real kicker is my Grandfather owns 400 acres. State land is just 5-6 miles away also, but I have never hunted any.

  • Ortonville is a half hour away. The 10 acres are part of a big tract of woods and swamp. It's a decent piece of property that I basically have to myself. I want to own my own some day but we'll have to see how my city-dwelling wife likes that idea.

If you need anyone to help eliminate does, my son still hasn't killed a deer yet. [wink]

  • Against three terrible teams granted, but Gardner has been unbelievable. Looks in total command of our offence, he makes the easy throws easy which denard didn't.

Also the deep balls have been pretty darn accurate to this point and he has shown an very impressive ability to keep plays alive and rush if need be. Touchdown producer and does not turn it over.

We have family and friends lined up to hunt this year. I promise you though, get with me next year and I will sit your son in a stand that you can kill a doe morning or night. It sits on a creek in-between a feeding area and bedding area. Over 30 does/yearlings were seen opening day.

Man, he would dig that. Seems like every time I take him out we don't see a damn thing. lol
